Tetrahedron Letters | 1995

One-pot synthesis of primary E-Allylic amines

Won Suk Shin; Kilsung Lee; Dong Young Oh

Abstract The Preparation of Primary E-Allylic Amines is performed in a one-pot procedure by subsequent treatment of lithiomethylphosphonate with nitriles, followed by addition of aldehydes and sodium borohydride.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

Reaction of allyltrimethylsilane with an aromatic compound using hypervalent organoiodine compound: A new allylation of aromatic compounds

Kilsung Lee; Dae Young Kim; Dong Young Oh

Abstract New general method for the allylation of aromatic compounds from allyltrimethylsilane utilizing the combination of iodosylbenzene and BF 3 OEt 2 are described, which is based upon the umpolung of allyltrimethylsilane by way of cationic allylphenyliodonium (III) salt complex as an intermediate.

Synthetic Communications | 1991

Synthesis of α-Hetero Atom Substituted β-Keto and Enamine Phosphonates

Kilsung Lee; Dong Young Oh

Abstract Various α-hetero atom substituted β-keto and enamine phosphonates are prepared by the nucleophilic addition of α-lithioanion of diethyl methylphosphonate to nitriles followed by subsequent addition of electrophiles.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

Reaction of conjugated nitro olefins with aromatic compounds: a new acylmethylation of aromatic compounds

Kilsung Lee; Dong Young Oh

Abstract Reaction of conjugated nitro olefins with aromatic compounds, followed by hydrolytic treatment, gives acylmethylated aromatic compounds in good yield.

Synthetic Communications | 2001

MICHAEL ADDITION OF N-(DIPHENYLMETHYLENE)- AMINOMETHYLPHOSPHONATE TO ACRYLATES USING PHASE TRANSFER CATALYSIS CONDITIONS: SYNTHESIS OF 1-(N-DIPHENYLMETHYLENE)AMINO- 3-(ALKOXYCARBONYL)- PROPYLPHOSPHONATES

Dae Young Kim; Ki Hyung Suh; Sun Chul Huh; Kilsung Lee

Phase transfer catalyzed Michael reaction of N-(diphenyl-methylene)-aminomethylphosphonate 1 to acrylates (2) provides a simple and convenient method for the synthe-sis of 1-(N-diphenylmethylene)amino-3-(alkoxycarbonyl)propylphosphonates (3).

Synthetic Communications | 1991

A Facile Method for the Preparation of 1,1-Dichloroolefins Using Benzenesulfonyl Chloride as a Chlorenium Ion Source

Kilsung Lee; Won Suk Shin; Dong Young Oh

Abstract Reaction of the lithio anion derived from diethyl methylphosphonate with benzenesulfonyl chloride gives directly the (diethylphosphoryl)dichloromethyllithium. In situ reaction with aldehydes or ketones gives in high yields of 1,1-dichloroolefins in a convenient one-pot procedure.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1992

New synthetic route to ketene selenoacetals. Reaction of diethyl 1,1-bis(phenylseleno)methylphosphonate with aldehydes and ketones.

Won Suk Shin; Kilsung Lee; Dong Young Oh

Abstract Reaction of 1,1-bis(phenylseleno)methylphosphonate with aldehydes gives ketene selenoacetals quantitatively.

Synthetic Communications | 1997

Synthesis of β-Amino Phosphonates in One-Pot Procedure

Won Bum Jang; Won Suk Shin; Kilsung Lee; Dong Young Oh

Abstract: β-amino phosphonate derivatives are synthesized in one-pot procedure via reduction of β-enamino phosphonate intermediates with NaBH4/acetic acid or trifluoroacetic acid.

Synthetic Communications | 1992

A One-Pot Generation of α-Chloro-α-Lithio Alkanephosphonates. A New Preparative Route to 1,2-Epoxyalkanephosphonates

Kilsung Lee; Won Suk Shin; Dong Young Oh

Abstract Reaction of lithio anion derived from diethyl alkanephosphonate in the presence of 2 eq. of n-BuLi with benzenesulfonyl chloride gives directly the corresponding diethyl-1-chloro-1-lithioalkanephosphonate, which reacts in situ with carbonyl compounds followed by intramolecular substitution reaction to give 1,2-epoxyalkanephosphonates.

Synthetic Communications | 2001

SYNTHESIS OF 3-ALKYL-3-PHOSPHORYL CHROMANONES: TANDEM ALLYL-VINYL MIGRATION AND CYCLIZATION OF α-(O-HYDROXYBENZOYL)-ALLYLIC PHOSPHONATES

Won Bum Jang; Chi-Wan Lee; Kilsung Lee; Jin Wuk Sung; Dong Young Oh

2-Alkyl-3-phosphoryl chromanones and its thio-derivatives were synthesized by a tandem allyl-vinyl migration and cyclization of α-(o-hydroxybenzoyl)-allylic phosphonates which were readily produced from lithiated allylic phosphonates and salicylate.
