PREFERENTIAL ORIENTATION AND DIELECTRIC/PYROELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF SOL-GEL-DERIVED PB(MG,ZN)1/3NB2/3O3 THIN FILMS

Mun K. Cho; Kyu-Kon Kim; Hyun M. Jang

Thin films of Pb(Mg,Zn) 1/3 Nb 2/3 O 3 (PMZN) were fabricated by spin casting the partially hydrolyzed Pb-Mg-Zn-Nb-O complex alkoxide sols on (111) Pt-coated MgO(100) planes. Analysis of the isothermal transformation data indicated that the growth of perovskite grains from the pyrochlore matrix is a diffusion-controlled process with an initial fast nucleation. The effect of water concentration in the sol on the preferential orientation of perovskite grains in the corresponding thin film was examined. A strong preferential orientation of (100) perovskite was obtained in the PMZN thin film derived from the sol having a molar ratio of H 2 O to total metal alkoxides ( R w ) of 2. A small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) experiment in the Porod region indicated that weakly branched precursor systems led to highly (100)-oriented perovskite grains after thin-film formation. The pyroelectric coefficient and the corresponding figure-of-merit were controlled by suitably varying the degree of preferential orientation during the fabrication of thin films.

A Validation Study of the Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Japanese(SSCQ-J) Hoon-Seuk Jo, Soo-Hyung Jeon, Jong-Hun Jeong, Kyu-Kon Kim†, Jong-Won Kim Dept. of Korean Medicine, Graduate School, Dong-Eui University Dept. of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, College of Oriental Medicine, Dongeui Univ. †Dept. of Data Information Science, Dongeui Univ. Objectives This study was aimed to validate Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Japanese (SSCQ-J). Methods Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Patients (SSCQ-P) was developed by joint researches between the Society of Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. We translated SSCQ-P into Japanese and modified some items of that for Japanese. By getting approval from the Institutional Review Board(IRB)of School of Medicine, Keio University, we conducted a questionnaire survey of patients who visited Oriental Medicine Center from early January until mid-February 2011. The total of 364 patients filled out that Questionnaire and gave an interview with a Sasang constitution specialist. Using this Questionnaire data, we made Sasang constitutional classification functions and calculated diagnostic accuracy rate of SSCQ-J using discrimination analysis. Results 1. Male groups diagnostic accuracy rate of SSCQ-J was 77.01% and female was 78.10%. 2. Diagnostic accuracy of SSCQ-J was a little higher than SSCQ-P Conclusions 1. SSCQ-J can be considered to have good discriminant power compared with SSCQ-P 2. Further research with SSCQ-J will be helpful in the comparison study on the usual symptoms between Korean and Japanese as well as development of good discriminant function.

Abstract A Comparative Study on Responses to the Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Patients between Korean and Japanese Dong-Hoon Ryu, Jong-Hoon Jeong, U-Yeol Bae ∗ , Kyu-Kon Kim † , Soo-Hyung Jeon, Jong-Won KimDept. of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, College of Koreanl Medicine, Dongeui Univ. ∗ Dept. of Oriental Rehabilitation, College of Korean Medicine, Dongeui Univ. † Dept. of Information Statistics, Dongeui Univ.ObjectivesThis study was performed to compare responses of Korean to the Sasang Constitution questionnaire with those of Japanese and to learn difference in characteristic according to the Sasang Constitution between two countries.Methods301 Korean visiting the department of the Sasang Constitution, Dong-Eui Medical Center in Busan, Korea from November 2006 to September 2010 responded to the SSCQ-P(Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Patients). Sasang Constitution specialist interviewed subjects and diagnosed their Sasang Constitution. 361 Japanese visitingthe center for Kampo Medicine, Keio University in Tokyo, Japan from January 2010 to February 2011 respondedthe SSCQ-J(Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Japanese). The Sasang Constitution was diagnosed in the same way as Korean. We compare responses to the SSCQ-P in Korean with those to the SSCQ-J in Japanese.Results1. Among Soyangin related 58 items of Sasang Constitution questionnaire, 26, 46.36% items had statistically significant response results in both Korean and Japanese and response disposition of all these items was same.Among Taeeumin related 68items, 36, 52.94% items had statistically significant response results in both Koreanand Japanese. Of these, response disposition of 35 items was same and that of 1 item was different. Among Soeumin related 71 items, 31, 43.66% items had statistically significant response results in both Korean and Japanese. Of these, response disposition of 28 items was same and that of 3 items was different.2. The proportion of items having statistical significance and same disposition in both Korean and Japanese by Sasang Constitutional characteristic category[Features and Way of Speaking, Physical Appearance, Temperament and Talent, Pathological Syndromes] was as follows; In Soyangin, the proportion in Pathological Syndromes was 27.8% and that in the others was more than 41.7%.In Taeeumin, the proportion in Pathological Syndromes was 33.3% and that in the others was more than 57.9%. In Soeumin, the proportion in Features and Way of Speaking was 70.6%, that in Physical Appearance was 8.3% and that in the others was 30∼40%.
