The paper is focused on the simulation identification of nonlinear damping characteristics of the shock absorber using genetic algorithm (GA). 2 DOF quarter car model is used with nonlinear characteristics of damping force defined as piecewise functions. The characteristics are found using time courses of position, velocity and acceleration of both masses under kinematic excitation. The influence of initial boundaries determining the limits within the parameter values are searched is shown in the paper.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic Abstract- This article deals with determining the size of linear wear acetabulum total hip arthroplasty experimental modeling. Described in detail the creation of an experimental sample and the equipment to simulate human walking. The greatest attention is paid to the method for determining the topography of polyethylene cup and measuring the loss of polyethylene during gait simulation. In determining the loss of polyethylene cup was based on extensive analysis of selected holographic interferometry. Other parts of the article focus on first experiences with the application of this method, results and more.

Chaos theory as scientific discipline is being developed since the sixties of the last century. Most of the publications are focused on theoretical aspects of this phenomena and the research in case of technical applications is usually using model systems with small number of DOF. In this paper we present the results of simulation studies of chaotic phenomena obtained using so called chaos module on models of nonlinear dynamic systems. Persistence storage oscilloscope is used to visualize obtained results.
