Tribodiagnostic investigation on oil filtration: results from a novel apparatus

Alessandro Ruggiero; Miroslav Mindas; Lucia Knapčíková

Purpose The paper aims to deal with the analysis of tribodiagnostic parameters of oil filter device to investigate the possibility to launch a thorough treatment of non-invasive filtration of oil during the full operation of machinery and equipment. Design/methodology/approach Tribotechnical diagnostic of the oils is based on the observation of the operating oil aging and assesses the rate of change of intensity and the degree of degradation of the oil to change the performance characteristics of the oil and, thus, the capacity of oil for the satisfactory operation of the device. Tribotechnical diagnostic equipment is based on monitoring the wear of its components and assessing the concentration of wear particles in the analyzed oil and intensity of wear. Findings The monitored values show a stabilization at levels in which the contamination cannot damage machinery and equipment and their individual components. It is shown that with this method, the oil becomes a very important indicator and gives, by using several tribotechnical analysis described in the paper, immediate representation of the internal condition of the tribosystems in the machine. The desired level of purity of the oil system becomes a standard value for the next period of operation, and any deviation of analyzed values can be almost immediately identified. Originality/value The paper involves investigation on non-invasive filtration of oil during the full operation of machinery and equipment; non-invasive filtration experimental analysis of used oil after filtration; And experimental effectiveness evaluation of the filtration. Purity of the oil system becomes the target value for the online monitoring.

Agáta Radvanská; Pavol Hreha; Lucia Knapčíková; Jana Petrů; Tomáš Zlámal; Peter Monka

Original scientific article The paper deals with the study of the focusing tube wear influence on surface quality and vibrations produced by abrasive waterjet by means of experiments design. The experiments deal with evaluation of the influence of focusing tube wear on surface quality and parameters of vibration generated by abrasive waterjet cutting. The main task of the first experiment was to study the significance of four selected factors of independent variables (focusing tube wear, traverse rate, abrasive mass flow rate and pressure) by full factorial analysis at two levels. The aim of the second experiment was to study the influence of focusing tube wear on the vibration parameters. It has been observed that focusing tube wear has a significant negative influence on surface quality and parameters of vibration.

Implementation of Material Flow Simulation as a Learning Tool

Jozef Husár; Lucia Knapčíková; Michal Balog

The paper is focused on the possibility of implementation the simulation of the production process into the education process. Recently, emphasis has been placed on digitizing the production process, using Industry 4.0 and, last but not least, optimizing and minimizing production times. The paper is organized as follows into two sections. Section 1 describes the concrete possibilities of implementation the simulation software and Sect. 2 describes the evaluation of results on a concrete example from production process. After defining the same input data for 4 types of rolling bearings (production times, material flow and Gantt chart), the variety of simulation was followed in order to achieve an optimal distribution of production, transport and storage ratio in the 50:30:20 range. Due to the application of the simulation students are taught how to benefit of a thorough analysis of production process, and all the time the students are very close to the real work environment of the production company.

Intelligent Wagon: A New Approach to Monitoring the Wagon’s Technical Conditions

Michal Balog; Daniela Marasová; Lucia Knapčíková; Peter Balog

Information generating on rail freight wagon components that carry a higher risk of damage during operation would create ideal conditions in real time and improve the safety control of their operations. Appropriate application technology can provide a solution for improving the quality of railway wagon operation. The aim of presented paper is to measure, monitor and signal the vehicle during the operation of the vehicle used RFID technology in theoretical and after testing in real conditions of rail freight wagon.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THERMOPLASTICS MATERIAL REINFORCED BY VARIOUS TYPES OF HIGH-STRENGTH FIBRES

Lucia Knapčíková; Svetlana Radchenko; Jozef Husár; Pavol Radic; Andrej Bernat

This paper aims to study the application of various types of high-strength fibres in the recycled polyvinyl butyral matrix, esp. effects of sizing on properties of differently sized. For the verification of tensile test according to standard DIN EN 527-1 we used numerical results. The reinforced material was moulded and the fibres are inserted at a distance of 3 mm and 5 mm at the middle of the matrix and subsequently again at 150 °C by 10MPa and by the pressing time, 2 minutes pressed.
