Conhecimento de estudantes adolescentes acerca do HIV/Aids

Aim: to verify the knowledge of adolescent students about HIV/AIDS. Method: exploratory descriptive study with quantitative approach, conducted with 298 students from two public schools of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. A self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Results: the study points out that most teenagers already initiated sex life (53.4%); regarding preventive methods, 44.1% reported having used them, condoms being the most frequent. Most students (92%) reported knowing the HIV/AIDS transmission routes. Television was the main source of information about HIV/AIDS. Conclusion: despite having knowledge about HIV/AIDS transmission, that doesn’t mean that the adolescents perform safe sexual practices, thus, there is a need to implement policies of health promotion and protection in the school environment

Conhecimento acerca do HIV/AIDS de estudantes do programa de educação de jovens e adultos

Objective: To identify the basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS for students included in the Program of adult and youth education. Methods: Descriptive study, with a quantitative approach. Participated in 169 students entered the Program of adult and youth education, two public schools located in the city of Recife. The data collection occurred from September to October 2012. It was used a questionnaire as an instrument of collection. Results: The study points out that 149 students have had sexual intercourse, of those, 128 said they had used some preventive method. About the sources for obtaining information about HIV, there was emphasis on the television. In terms of HIV transmission 11.3% reported being too by kiss on the lips. Conclusion: It is essential the implementation of strategies of health promotion and protection regarding the theme of HIV by providing necessary information people in General.

Oficinas de educação em saúde com idosos: uma estratégia de promoção da qualidade de vida

Objective: Perform health education actions for the Promotion of Health of the elderly in the Elderly Care Center of Federal University of Pernambuco. Methods: Experience report, reflective character on educational workshops based on the Paulo Freire constructs. The activity took place in 2013 with the participation of seven people, being divided into two strategies. Results: There was the creation of a space for a discussion of various issues raised by the elderly, as the limitations of old age and the needs of adaptive process at this stage of life. During dynamic seniors share knowledge, experience and creativity. Conclusion: The nursing when using the Health Education has unique tool in the care of the elderly, promoting new visions on the aging process.
