Cerambycidae (Coleoptera) from state of Maranhão, Brazil. IV: new genus, new species, new synonym, new records

Ubirajara R. Martins; Antonio Santos-Silva; Maria Helena M. Galileo; Francisco L. De Oliveira

Five new species and one new genus of Cerambycidae are described from Maranhao: Mirador ayrii gen. nov., sp. nov.; Stizocera ignea sp. nov.; Engyum vicinum sp. nov.; Thoracibidion rubripenne sp. nov.; Polyrhaphis ju sp. nov. Sphagoeme Aurivillius, 1893 is proposed as a new synonym of Limernaea Thomson, 1878, and Sphagoeme nigrotibialis Martins, 1973 is proposed as a new synonym of Limernaea picta Thomson, 1878. A total of 102 known species are recorded for the state of Maranhao for the first time: two Prioninae, 69 Cerambycinae and 31 Lamiinae. Six species are reported for the first time from Brazil. With these new records, and the five new species described, the total number of species recorded from the state of Maranhao increased from 367 to 474.

Two new species of Lamiinae, synonymies in Hemilophini, and corrections on the concept of four genera with transfers of three species (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae)

Maria Helena M. Galileo; Antonio Santos-Silva; James E. Wappes

The differences between Lycidola Thomson, 1864 and Apeba Martins & Galileo, 1991 are discussed, and a new concept proposed for both genera. Lycidola popeba Galileo & Martins, 2006 is transferred to Apeba. The authorship of Lycidola palliata nigrohumeralis (type species of Acabanga Martins & Galileo, 1991) is corrected. Hemilophus togatus sensu Haase (1892) and sensu Heyne & Taschenberg (1908) are excluded from the synonym of Apeba togata (Klug, 1825). Apeba herrerae sp. nov. is described from Bolivia, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Lycaneptia antiqua Waterhouse, 1880 (= Apeba antiqua) is synonymized with Saperda togata Klug, 1825 (= Apeba togata). Eranina tomentilla Mehl et al., 2015 and Tyrinthia humeralis Martins & Galileo, 2014) are synonymized with Tyrinthia reversa Bates, 1881 (= Icimauna reversa); I. reversa is recorded for the first time from Brazilian state of São Paulo. Icimauna macilenta (Bates, 1881) is figured for the first time, and I. macilenta sensu Martins & Galileo (2014b) is Eraninella longiscapus (Bates, 1881). A key to species of Icimauna is provided. Oreodera clarkei sp. nov. is described from Bolivia. A key to species of Oreodera Audinet-Serville, 1835 recorded from Bolivia is provided. The differences between Hippopsis Lepeletier & Audinet-Serville, 1825 and Megacera Audinet-Serville, 1835 are summarized, and a new concept is proposed for each. Subsequently, Megacera rigidula Bates, 1866, and M. acuminata Galileo & Martins, 2006 are transferred to Hippopsis.

Description of a new genus of Elaphidiini with two new species (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Cerambycinae)

Antonio Santos-Silva; Maria Helena M. Galileo

Elaphidiini Thomson, 1864 is a large tribe of Cerambycidae composed of 92 genera with species distributed from Canada to southern South America. Lingafelter (1998) performed a generic level phylogenetic analysis of the tribe and provided a key to the known genera. According to Lingafelter, Elaphidiini is characterized as follows: mesally-spined antenna (lost in some taxa), narrow metepisternum with a centrally positioned keel, strongly sclerotized below and membranous above; prosternal process between procoxae slightly to strongly expanded at apex (rarely linear and unexpanded); terminal palpomeres much wider at apex than base; and coarsely faceted eyes (with few exceptions).
