The urban forestry contributes directly to the quality of life in cities, benefiting their physical-environmental. Examining the case of two public squares in Cuiaba, Brazil, this study investigated how trees affect the conditions of the microclimate in urban areas. This study aimed to assess the variables that contribute the thermal environment of squares Popular and April 8 and how this influences the use by people analyzing the relationships among the factors involved in this process, mainly through the woody vegetation. This involved measurements of leaf area index (LAI), rates of shading and tree density (ISA and IDA), size and identification of various species. Also, we performed measurements of meteorological variables for 15 continuous days on a rainy dry season and another in 2009. Held parallel to one behavioral assessment verification of the dynamics of use by people. It was observed that the mean air temperature below the canopy was reduced by 0.45 ° C and 0.30 ° C respectively in dry and rainy seasons. By multivariate analysis using clusters of vegetation characteristics, the results indicated dichotomy resulting in a number of areas with high leaf area index and large trees, and another group with less leaf area index, tree size and percentage of shaded area. It was concluded that it is important to add efforts to qualify the environment through public squares better planning and proper methodology in selecting tree species to be adopted.

Recent discussions indicate sustainability as a compulsory measure for the technical and scientific development. Cities follow a pattern of organization that involves growth and economic interests, political and social, so the urban area has a number of training patterns. The capital of Mato Grosso, Cuiaba is a city in the early eighteenth century, their initial training was from the central region crossed by the stream of Prainha and Porto region the banks of the River Cuiaba. The port district has land use and soil mix consisting of residences, businesses, service providers and institutions. The characteristics of occupation can define the neighborhood has sparsely built, noting a large amount of green area preserved. The objective of this study is to analyze through bioclimatic form at various points located in different regions of the Port district, the methodology was adopted, Romero (2001), the same set of bioclimatic comes along with the formal elements of the building and space urban, with an emphasis on the space for public use. In the overall analysis we are able to verify the geometric pattern, urban as well as suggesting what the best option for directing the development of a more sustainable city.

This paper aims to analyze the efficiency and cost x benefit the use of three types of metal roofing for an supermarket area of 1.907,5 m2. It considered the use of aluminum tile, thermal blanket aluminum tile and sandwich tile. The software EnergyPlus was the tool used for the simulation. The plug-in Openstudio integrated into SketchUp was used for the construction and editing of the model. It is necessary to insert the physical characteristics of the components, thermal loads internal lighting, general equipment, number of people, maximum internal temperature of the air to use the air conditioning and climate data from Cuiaba for make the CANEPPELE et al., v(9), no 9, p. 1971-1979, FEV, 2013. The strategy of shading, in hot climates, is one of the main features of bioclimatic architecture. This research was aimed to evaluate the effects of passive strategy of the tree shading term hygrometric conditions and luminous of external and internal environments of buildings. The methodology consisted of measuring environmental variables in the open, under the canopy of trees and inside rooms identical shaded and unshaded. These variables were related

To ensure safety in surgery, in addition to all the technical elements of the procedure itself, it is necessary that the conditions of the place where it happens to be the best possible in order to reduce the variables that can alter the outcome of the procedures, increase the level of success and preserve the health of professionals working within the surgical center. This article aims to point out the general importance of proper lighting in this sector of the hospital and the tasks it developed specific objectives were to make a profile of this hospital for two health-care facilities at two different times of the year in Cuiabá, check your respect rules that dictate the ROMANI & NOGUEIRA, v(9), no 9, p. 2037-2048, FEV, 2013. Data were collected through observation of the physical environment and equipment available to these professionals to brighten your desktop and battery of measurements of luminance levels of the operating rooms. The criteria for data analysis were the NBR 5413 (1992) which determines the minimum luminance for environments, and recommendations for lighting installations in the healthcare of IESNA (American Society for Engineering Lighting). The popular surgical centers need adjustments because not fully met any of the criteria used in the survey. The luminance levels are below the minimum values set by NBR 5413 (1992) in all periods in which measurements were taken, and the lighting equipment do not conform with the recommendations of IESNA.

This article aims to evaluating the interference of green roofs on microclimate of the built environment, analyzing their potential in modifying the values of temperature and relative humidity of the air surrounding the building. For this were used a prototype of 5m 2, constructed of brick and cement, finished with plaster and roofed with fibre cement, where was installed the green roof. The prototype was monitored for 15 consecutive days of the summer and winter seasons, starting on February 5th, 2009 and ending on February 20th, 2009, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.. Were collected simultaneously data of relative humidity and air temperature in the surroundings near the prototype and in a remote location, both presenting the same ROSSETI et al., v(9), no 9, p. 1959-1970, FEV, 2013. The weather conditions of the urban climate influence the thermal sensation of pedestrians moving in open environments. Thus, the meteorological variables play an important role for the quality life of the people who use these spaces, especially in cities Tropical Continental Climate. Thus, this study aimed to map the thermal sensation of walking under open condition in the city of Cuiaba, MT, taking into consideration only the weather triggered by climate. Were measured weather variables and used to index Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) for evaluating the thermal sensation. During the daytime period, thermal comfort in the open has not

Considering the global scenario of scarce natural resources, creating solutions for more responsible energy consumption becomes essential. The architectural design appropriate to the climate minimizes the energy consumption during use of the building. Aiming at reducing the energy consumption of buildings were developed performance standards and energy efficiency in various countries. In this context, this study aims at evaluating the thermal performance of a public building in the city of Cuiaba, MT. To this end, measurements were made on the spot assessment of thermal comfort by the method of Fanger, evaluation of the envelope by RTQ-C. The building had a good thermal performance in their evaluations, staying in the comfort zone during all business hours. It is hoped that with this work, Regulation and its application can be broadcast in the city of Cuiaba, demonstrating its effectiveness and contributing to improved energy efficiency of local buildings, especially for public buildings.
