The purchase and storage of a real inventory plays an important role in carrying out the main manufacturing processes in an industrial enterprise. To optimize its level, with adhering to the rules of reducing the maintenance costs and carrying out production in uninterrupted manner, is a major challenge for manufacturing entities. The volume of stored maintenance part inventories is largely due to the method of using and maintaining the production equipment; therefore, for the effective management of the spare part flow it is essential to define the strategy of repairs of machinery and equipment. The selection of the equipment operation strategy and the resultant repair activities have a significant impact on the spare part purchasing process, which may be varying in character. The aim of the paper is to assess the method of managing spare part inventories in Polish industrial enterprises. The survey covered micro-, small-, medium-sized and large production enterprises (identified by the number of employees), based on the presumption that each of these types of entities, due to conducted operation processes, uses various technical facilities and it is possible to identify the management of that equipment in association with the flow of spare part. Based on the survey results, the paper discusses basic issues related to the consequences of the unavailability of parts, the preparation and structure of spare part orders, and the type of inventories that need to be considered when planning the storage of spare parts.

Abstract Tightening the environmental norms that result from the priorities of the EU 2030 Energy and Climate Package and the reform of the EU ETS have caused the necessity to implement an effective system of managing the risk of carbon dioxide emission and integrate it with the existing enterprise management system. Evaluation of the direction and strength of correlation between EUA price changes and energy companies stock price returns is crucial from point of view the managerial staff making proper decisions about the use of the CO2 emission permits by energy companies. It is an important stage of carbon emission risk management process. The aim of this paper is to verify the possibility of use the multifactor models with GARCH structure as a tool supporting the carbon emission management process in energy companies. Empirical analysis is connected with the estimation of multifactor models with GARCH structure in the Phase II and Phase III of the EU ETS functioning for two groups of Polish energy companies: group of the Respect Index companies and others. Such an approach allows to check whether the Respect Index companies are more robust than others on the carbon emission risk, in particular the EUA price risk associated with the intensification works on modifying the EU ETS functioning. We found that the impact of EUA price changes on energy companies stock returns and their volatility is statistically insignificant in case of all Respect Index companies.

The aim of the paper is to identify the conditions for management of commercial cargo motor transport companies not possessing the unit dealing with logistics customer service. The subject of the specific considerations is the relationships of activities or processes, and/or decisions of logistics customer service with organizational structure of the entities not possessing the unit dealing with logistics service, participation of functional departments in bearing responsibility for logistics customer service, and involvement of employees on the basis of the conducted research as well as the size of the surveyed transport companies as the determinants of the area of logistics customer service of the entities not possessing the unit responsible for it. The paper is based on the results of the research presented below, conducted on a sample of 147 commercial cargo motor transport enterprises located in the Silesian Voivodeship (Southern Poland). The applied cognitive method was the survey in the framework of which there was categorized the technique to obtain primary information—the questionnaire.

The article presents the problem of identification and analysis of processes and resources of the logistics system in management of the Division of the Assay Office in Czestochowa (Poland) in the process of determination of gold content in jewelry alloys. In the fundamental process, developed in the logistics system of the administrative body, i.e. in the process of determination of gold content in jewelry alloys, there have been identified and analyzed two basic sub-processes, depending on the purity of the product, and indicated the basic tasks and relations of the investigated system.

The aim of the paper is the assessment of selected elements of logistic customer service for management as perceived by the recipients of services on example of commercial cargo motor transport enterprises. The surveys of the logistic service level as perceived by the recipients of the services of Polish Silesian Province’s commercial cargo motor transport enterprises, carried out using the Servqual method, enabled the quality assessment of the logistic service elements of business entities included in the test sample. Considering the results of classification of the most significant logistic customer service elements at the enterprises under study, an attempt was made to examine the effect of logistic customer service element quality on service correctness, service timeliness, service completeness, service provision promptness, technological advancement of the fleet, and service availability. For the determination of the above-mentioned significance, the multiple discriminant analysis was employed. The computations were made using the STATISTICA 10.0 package.

The paper was written in an attempt to compare the degree of sustainability of public transport development in selected Polish cities. Sustainable development of public transport is a goal of almost every city in Poland provided for in the strategy documents. Local authorities take efforts to make public transport more attractive and competitive as well as to improve urban facilities for cyclists and pedestrians. At the same time the motorization rate in Poland is known to be growing very fast, traffic congestion is becoming more common and many Polish cities are undergoing rapid development with increasing urban sprawl. This raises some doubts concerning the effectiveness of local authorities. A comparative analysis of the degree of sustainability of public transport development in Polish cities can provide guidelines for further action plans in this area. Various authors try to compile a list of indicators measuring the degree of transport sustainability. In Poland, such measurement is relatively complex primarily due to a varied approach. Also the existing statistical database in our country hinders the process. In view of the above, the analysis will be based on selected indicators that were available, useful and intelligible.
