Percepção de adolescentes aprendizes sobre a experiência do primeiro emprego

This study investigated how young apprentices evaluate professional insertion through their first job and what changes they identify in their lives from this experience. A focus group interview with four young apprentices from Santa Catarina (two boys and two girls), who were between 14 and 16 years old, was held. As main positive aspects there were the increase in maturity and personal organization, more social recognition (in work and family), skills acquisition, personal change and the impact of work on career choice. Main negative aspects were lack of time, neglect of their own health and the difficulty with the constant changing of classes and teachers. Identify the perceptions of these participants contributed to a better understanding of their personal and professional development, and provided feedback for the institutions that promote youth-employment approach and to companies that receive them. Further studies of larger scope can expand the aspects considered here.

Percepções de coordenadores de curso superior sobre evasão, reprovações e estratégias preventivas

Buscou-se investigar as concepcoes de coordenadores de cursos de uma universidade publica brasileira acerca dos determinantes da evasao e reprovacao e as estrategias de intervencao desenhadas para intervir nesses fenomenos. Foram entrevistados individualmente coordenadores de 10 cursos de graduacao com elevados indices de reprovacao e evasao. Percebeu-se que a evasao e a reprovacao sao aspectos claramente diagnosticados no cotidiano dos entrevistados, contudo os relatos apresentaram discrepâncias na eleicao de determinantes e nas estrategias adotadas ou planejadas para o enfrentamento da questao. De modo geral, os determinantes da evasao e reprovacao citados foram, prioritariamente, externos ao curso. Ainda, a maioria dos cursos nao realizava avaliacoes institucionais, assim a coordenacao nao possuia um diagnostico contextual do problema. Percebeu-se nas entrevistas iniciativas isoladas e bem intencionadas que buscavam minimizar problemas, mas que podem ter efetividade reduzida uma vez que estavam desarticuladas dos planos estrategicos da universidade.
