Pion Theory of Nuclear Forces

Kazuhiko Inoue; Shigeru Machida; Mitsuo Taketani; Toshiyuki Toyoda

Recently a general and formal method to construct nuclear potentials has been -pwposed by Fukuda, Sa1rada and Taketam. Applymg the metbod to the pion theory and adopting fixed and extended sources, we have evaluated nuclear potentials. The result seems to be m favour of that of Taketani, Mach1da and Onuma rather than that of Prueckner and Watson. As a cut·off function we assumed a Gauss~an error function ·With kma:JJ = 61-1c. In the case of the effective coupling constant g2 f4n = 0.08 it is fout:d that the effect of the extended source becomes very strong in the reg~n for r 0. 7 t / /-IC and pher:omenologiCal potentials inside this range, -satisfactory results may be obtamed to explam the properties of the two nucleon system in tbe low energy reg1on.

Angular Distribution of p-p Scattering at High Energies and Radius of the Hard Core

Masayuki Nagasaki; Mitsuo Taketani

It is shown that the minimum or break at t = 1.3 (GeV/c)/sup 2/ in the experimental angular distributions for p + p interactions at high energies can be explained by a rather simple distribution of the absorption surrounding a hard core. The Klein- Gordon equation is used. (JFP)
