Related Topic: Halal Cosmetics

Eddy Yusuf; Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid

Halal is an Arabic word, which means permissible or lawful by Islamic Law (shariah). It refers to the whole system of principles and rules, according to which every Muslim is required to live by.Halal products are a basic need for all Muslims, including cosmetic and personal care products. Halal cometic products should be looked at beyond the swine-free issue. They cover all aspects of the management system, including selection of raw materials/ingredients, built-in production processes, storage, distribution, transportation, and delivery to the consumer. Currently halal products are not only important for Muslims, but are also attracting non-Muslims due to cleanliness, purity, and good quality products.Detection of non-halal ingredients in cosmetic products is quite difficult due to the high complexity of ingredient usage. Therefore, developing methods of analysis are important to ensure halal authenticity and integrity. Halal standards and halal certification is important as a benchmark for halal compliance.

Abdullah A. Aldousari; Farzana Yasmin; Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid; Zafar U. Ahmed

ABSTRACT The significance of retail store brands has increased. However, despite the emergence of numerous exclusive retail products, not all of them achieved success. Seemingly, retailers have a shortsighted comprehension of the different risks related to including new categories of products to the store brands. This research analysis investigates how various categories of perceived risks connected with attributes, products, and atmosphere of stores impact consumers’ evaluation of store-branded products. A developed and tested structural model gave indications of the probability of consumers’ evaluations of store brands. The research discovered various perceptions of store brands among the respondents. Also, one of the research results found different perceptions among users and non-users of store brands.

Abdullah A. Aldousari; Alan Robertson; Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid; Zafar U. Ahmed

ABSTRACT An increasing number of organizations embark on employer branding although this practice is not theoretically supported. Our study explores the employer brand by employing branding that examines the interrelation between the elements and the branding process’ outcomes. Our study is based on the employer branding model having two major components: the employer brand (with interrelated internal and external images) and the efficiency outcomes originating from the application of the employer branding process. Our study combines quantitative and qualitative research methods. The data were obtained from the companies operating in the western province of Sri Lanka. Our findings reveal that organizations with an advanced employer branding strategy have greater productivity than those organizations who lack or have partially developed strategy. Our study compares organizations with different levels of implementation of the employer branding strategy. Special attention is paid to organizational communication and the incorporation of values into the external and internal employer brand.
