The author relates the results of a study made in the State Health Centers, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her aim was to analyse the activities of the nurses wren performing nursing assistance functions to the users of the health units.

A PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA DOS ENFERMEIROS NAS REUNIÕES DA SOCIEDADE BRASILEIRA PARA O PROGRESSO DA CIÊNCIA

The authors have analized the scientific production presented by nurses and other professionals associated with the teaching of Nursing, published in the ANNALS of the Yearly Meetings of the Brazilian Society for Science Development (SBPC) from 1949 to 1983. Data showed a prevalence of papers prepared by faculty members over those prepared by Nursing Service Staff, as well a tendency for a quantitative decrease in the scientific production in the last five years.

THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

The author presents in generic lines the theoretical fundament of the primary health care. She emphasizes some international and national meetings that recommend the extension of the health actions do the population. She also designs the new proposal of reorganization and extension of the Health Services System. Finally she detaches some operative strategies in order to reach the desired extension of the primary health care, covering all the population.

A enfermeira atende no metrô de São Paulo: relato de uma experiência

This paper reports an experience carried out by nurses during the 44 th. WEEK ON NURSING in the Suboways of Sao Paulo Municipality in 1983. The general purpose was tonake population and authorities acquainted with the nurses potencial of work regarding the primary health care. The specific goals were the proposition and experimentation of a nursing assistance model which could show the performance of the nurses traditional functions, though with a greater degree of autonomy. The model was evaluated in terms of the average length of the activities provided, the kind and number of health problems and others found along the population, and the view point of the nurses who partook the experience as well as the opinion of the population attended.

Descrevem-se os principais fatores de uma situacao de crise no sistema de servicos de saude do Pais. Demonstra-se, tambem, o surgimento de modelos alternativos para a extensao de cobertura de servicos de saude a populacao, como uma das estrategias de acao.
