The cooperation becomes an important requirement in distributed Healthcare Information Systems (HISs). It is used to provide patients with a good and fast treatment. To achieve the cooperation feature, a fractal approach has been proposed by many researchers in different areas. Also, many approaches have been proposed in cooperative HISs to share patients’ information between different healthcare centres in order to provide a good treatment. However, most of these researches did not address the required improvement on physician skills and the possible enhancement on the healthcare services. This empirical study proposes a way to adjust fractal approach in HISs in order to improve the cooperation feature among physicians which may enhance both physician skills and healthcare services. The analysis of the collected data shows there are problems that associated with current system and therefore a set of requirements have been initiated. It has been found that there is a need to adapt the fractal features in current HIS environment.

Healthcare Information Systems (HISs) in hospitals have become an influential factor to provide cooperation among physicians in sharing healthcare information. Many cooperative HIS models were proposed. However, they focused on management of the patients’ information and do not address the issue of improving the physicians’ skills due to many factors. In this study, a mixed data collection approach is used first to determine the current levels of cooperation among physicians with regard to the sharing of information and skills in the patient treatment within selected hospitals in Kurdistan region of Iraq. The second, it is first used to determine factors affecting such cooperation and second to determine how the activities of Research and Development (R&D) units affect this cooperation. The results of this study showed that the cooperation among physicians in sharing information and skills is poor due to the six important factors. The study also founded that there is positive relation between R&D unit activities and cooperation among physicians in sharing patient information and their skills. The study findings provided that the development of cooperative HISs environment should be adapted based on an open, autonomic, flexible and cooperative model to support exchange of productive information among physicians in real time in order to improve their skills by acquiring new knowledge from each other within same and between different hospitals.

Abstract—the development in health information technology have increased the need share data and knowledge especially medical information, researchers, public health organizations, others interested in medical data. Some medical records are often added and deleted in the practical applications. The leakage of privacy information caused by re-publishing datasets with multiple sensitive attributes becomes more likely than any other publication styles This paper attempts to fill the above gaps, presents a framework for de-identifying health information .we used the generalization technique and K- Anonymization model to protecting privacy of patient data. After the protecting privacy applicable prepare the data for analysis and extract the knowledge that supports decision- making, we offer a range of initial assessments show the effectiveness-of our-approach.

Two of the most data model in Data Warehouse (DW) and advanced database includes star and snowflake schema, which play pivotal roles in the underlying performance. Today, DW queries comprise a group of aggregations and joining operations. As a result, snowflake schema does not seem to be an adequate option since several relations must combine to provide answers for queries that involve aggregation. In spite of its widespread application and undeniable advantages, snowflaking technique has certain theoretical and practical demerits. This paper proposes Hierarchical Degenerate Snowflake (HDS) as an alternative logical data model to achieve DW structure to improve the query performance.

New technologies, especially, the Internet have made a huge impact on knowledge management and information dissemination in education. The web portal as a knowledge management system is very popular topics in many organizations including universities. Generally, a web portal defines as a gateway to online network accessible resources through the intranet, extranet or Internet. This study develops a knowledge portal for the students in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), University of Malaya (UM). The goals of this portal are to provide information for the students to help them to choose the right courses and major that are relevant to their intended future jobs or career in IT. A quantitative approach used as the selected method for this research. Quantitative method provides an easy and useful way to collect data from a large sample population.

Mass customization (MC) is the capability to offer individually tailored products on a large scale with electronic commerce as its ideal facilitator. This conceptual paper, through the widespread analysis of MC related articles, identified the definition of MC as well as research in MC areas and eventually divided them into a few categories. From the analysis of MC definitions, two new definitions of MC are derived. Also, from the analysis of research areas in MC, MC related Decision Support System (DSS) is proposed to bridge the gap between these research areas. Additionally, problems with regards to the implementation MC in Malaysia are also identified and measures are proposed to overcome them.

The adoption of Information Systems (IS) in many businesses is at a fast tempo in order to be more competitive. This fast adoption is very much supported by the rapid technology advancement and the increasing demand from business stakeholders. Together with the introduction of the Internet with its remarkable features, plus the free-form of policing practiced make the Internet more attractive and engaging. The only problem is this attraction has become the magnet for the abuser to misuse the Internet for their profit. This problem has led to many Information Security study to combat threats and protect the business. However, many studies are focus on the technical and engineering solution, where less work were conducted in the IS, management and business issues. In the context of ecommerce, there are very few studies done to understand the problem faced by this subject. Only few e-commerce company manage IS security as the rest believe it is not important. This preliminary paper is written to study the IS security management on the emergent organization environment (e.g. ecommerce) as to the hierarchical organization is dominant in this research field. A framework of analysis is derived to show the contrast of the research objective above.
