Bodies of Knowledge (BOK), contain the relevant knowledge for a disciplines as example Software Engineering (SE), System Information (SI), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Medicine, Economics, and others areas of knowledge. BOK describes relevant knowledge for a discipline, and will need show the consensus in the Knowledge Areas (KA), and related disciplines. The development of this consensus is a prerequisite to the adoption of coherent skills development in the education context, and continuing professional programs both in public and private organizations. In this context a systematic mapping study (SMS), it was performed to evaluate quantity and types of primary studies in an area of interest. SMS will be used as the research method within this research. The research method proposed will allow to sort and classify the information referent to the topics of this research. This paper is an attempt to analyze existing proposals on BOK contents, structure, and make a proposal what the kind of contents it should have, and how it should be structured so that this consensus among all parties can be described and best achieved. In the same way the relevance, and useful of the BOK in the curricular design for the innovation, and the industry context is present.

Carlos Calderon-Cordova; Cristian Ramirez; Veronica Barros; Pablo Alejandro Quezada-Sarmiento; Luis Barba-Guaman

The present work is part of the “Hand of Hope” project, which seeks to develop low-cost robotic prostheses with the aim of contributing to the social and labor inclusion of people with motor disabilities of their upper extremities. The specific objective to address in this work is the design and development of the system architecture to recognition of EMG (Electromyography) signal patterns, the purpose is to control the functions of objects handling by the robotic prosthesis. There are proposed methods to the recognition of EMG signal patterns; however it defined using a Feedforward-backpropagation Artificial Neural Network (ANN) because have high success rate (Sr) using the least amount of channels, can be supported on platforms on-line and real-time; and moreover in order to improve the ANN-Sr values, it was used as input the envelope of the EMG signal instead of the original signal. For the performance evaluation 20 assessments for each of the four EMG signal patterns (relaxed hand/cylindrical grip, pinch grip, thumb adduction, and index finger extended) were performed, from the results it is observed that the average success rate is equal to 95%.

This article describes the infrastructure and architecture required for the implementation of an automation system for the current SIMERT Tariff Municipal System of Rotating Parking in the city of Loja. The best technological architecture was identified among the models of technological architectures based on web services as SOA, SOAP and REST. The required network infrastructure was specified in addition to both the users and the centralized management systems applications, which will be used to manage parking times and fines for users. The goal is that the user has the facility to find a parking lot and dial the parking lot from his smartphone through a mobile application, thus eliminating the manual system of physical control cards, saving human resources that were necessary for the surveillance in the different streets where the manual rate system is located. Using the developed application will be an efficient management of the vehicles in use and real time of the parking system, controlling times and fines.

Detection of moving objects through color thresholding

Luis Barba-Guaman; Carlos Calderon-Cordova; Pablo Alejandro Quezada-Sarmiento

In image processing area and segmentation algorithms based on thresholding, the intensity of the image (grayscale) is usually obtained in order to differentiate the regions of the objects and the background. The segmentation based on the threshold works well when the image has a high intensity in the contrast, this characteristic is key to make a good classification of the pixels. This document will explain some theoretical concepts to identify objects by means of their color (thresholding), this technique was implemented in the development of a game program. Furthermore, the thresholding range for the red, yellow and green colors was found in order to achieve a better approach in the object detection. This project used the python programming language, Pygame graphical interface libraries and the OpenCV library free open source about artificial vision.

Over the years Internet accessibility has increased in a remarkable way and now, besides this, the use of devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops allows people to access a large variety of applications, among which are those that enable users to locate places such as restaurants, hotels and parks, allowing quick access to that information. This document presents the development and implementation of a web application for the geolocation of low-cost restaurants, commonly called “huequitas”. Our application uses HTML5, CSS, PHP and JavaScript for the development of the web page and implements the Google Maps API to improve the search experience for locating all the “huequitas” in the sector. The application locates the current position of the user; and, based on the users position, shows the nearby “huequitas” along with the route to follow in order to reach each place. This application is characterized for using MySQL, an Open Source database and three layer architecture at the network level. The design of the application is specifically for a web platform, but being responsive it can be viewed from a smartphone or tablet.
