With the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles negative impacts of forest fire can be significantly reduced. Through this research it is shown how UAVs can contribute to reducing probability of errors made by tactics on the ground and in air, reaction time, accuracy in decision making and load of people and equipment in peak days. Review of the challenges for using small UAVs was made for the regulations in the Republic of Croatia, also with the detail described proposed system architecture including module for communication, data receiving module, video play module, fire detection module and GIS display module.

Travel and traffic data, due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies are becoming increasingly and more fast accessible to the users. However, the technologies which would facilitate users to find and use such data do not follow such rapid development. For this reason, European regulations and guidelines for the development of sustainable mobility in cities are increasingly emphasizing the importance of the use of multimodal travel guides. The aim of this paper is to describe the concept of cooperative development of multimodal guide based on the optimal use of travel and traffic information. Such systems should provide information about optimal route taking into consideration optimal spatial, cost and time variables. The research reported in this paper is PART OF the FP7 - Collaborative Project: Intelligent Cooperative Sensing for improved traffic Efficiency (FP7-317671 ICSI).

We live at a time when the automotive industry is going through a technological revolution with the development of vehicles changing into autonomous moving objects having the properties of artificial intelligence. Additionally, cellular communications networks introduce new technologies and concepts: SDN (Software-defined networking), NFV (Network Functions Virtualization). These advanced software-defined communications networks virtualize network functions, allowing a new way of configuration, control and management. Increasing the speed and automation are key requirements to support the most demanding services such as mobile payment of contextual services, as well as the introduction of new “Machine” users. SDN also assists in the implementation of new infrastructure for the dynamic services that are based on the concepts of IoT, Big Data and Everything-as-a-Service. Using NFV enables the Internet of Things services that provide a new way of connecting people, processes, data and devices. It is precisely thes5G communications networkse requirements that are essential for the introduction of C-ITS systems, i.e., the integration of passengers, drivers, vehicles and transport infrastructure, as well as information, statistics, predictive traffic analytics, all this in real-time. Due to this trend of development of cellular communications networks in the next 5G communications networks, automotive and ITS traffic systems are becoming the most important market for business expansion of telecom operators. Such revolutionary technological changes, together with the integration of various industries entails a series of challenges. The aim of this paper is to define important information, challenges and opportunities for the telecom industry to provide mobility for people and goods.

This paper presents a cooperative intelligent transport systems, which represents a platform for future semantic services. We expect they will bring significant social and economic benefits, due to the greater efficiency of the transport system and increase security. Ontologies represent dictionaries of relevant concepts from traffic domains organized in a hierarchical structure of classes and taxonomy. This paper analyzes and provides guidelines for the development of semantic applications on the platform of cooperative intelligent transport systems.

Ontologies in the field of information sciences represent the basic building blocks in formal semantic infrastructure construction, which are needed for the development of various semantics-aware applications. At the beginning of any ontology development, it is important to create a dictionary of concepts which will make-up the ontology. The methodological basis for the construction of an Intelligent transport systems ontology and iterative procedures for its expansion is described in this paper. Furthermore, knowledge base analysis methods of terminology extraction for building ontologies within the domain of intelligent transport systems is presented.

In order to respond to the challenges of modern society, the organization of logistic processes requires synergistic optimization effects of physical processes and application of innovative technologies. The emphasis is based on continuous optimization of the processes with the aim of faster, more quality and more cost-effective services to the end user. In this paper possibility and potential of UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle) application in logistics processes will be explained. Processes as stock inventory in warehouses and others can be improved with application of UAV.

Increasing fuel prices, short-term inventories with C02 emission growth worldwide have contributed to the development of technology in auto industry. Many advanced technologies in the auto industry have emerged in the last decade, but with little focus on driver behavior to reduce fuel consumption. With the implementation of cooperative intelligent transport system (C-ITS) architecture for data acquisition from the vehicles it is possible to achieve defined energy and environmental requirements in traffic. In this paper the areas of application of C-ITS in terms of support for eco-driving will be defined and presented. Also, the implementation of presented system can have the influence on traffic flow and other traffic parameters, but defines new requirements for other involved subsystems (driver-vehicle-infrastructure).

Stochastic nature of traffic system creates a need for real time traffic information provision to end-users (travelers) through the whole journey. Modern information and communication technologies (ICT) enable distribution of traffic information, especially with the usage of mobile data transmission. Existing services for distribution of traveler information are limited to one mode of transport (mostly road transport), and there is a need for its extension on all transport modes. The purpose of this research is to define the concept for development of multimodal traveler information systems where end-users can receive needed information for the entire journey. Also, regarding existing services, an extension in maritime environment is proposed, which is based on optimal usage of traveler and traffic data.
