Synthesis and In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of novel glycodendrimers with benzene 1,3,5 carboxamide core and triazole as branching unit

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan

Novel glycodendrimers scaffolds containing twelve and eighteen α-D-glycopyranoside at the periphery and triazole as branching unit have been synthesized using click chemistry. Higher generation dendrimers exhibit better anti-inflammatory activity than the lower generation due to the presence of more triazole branching units and multivalent glycopyranoside units.

1,2,3-Triazole Ferrocenyldendrimers Through Click Chemistry Approach and their Optical and Electrochemical Properties

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan; Ayyavoo Kannan

Novel ferrocenyl dendrimers with ferrocene as a surface group and with triazole as a bridging unit have been synthesised through click chemistry. The increasing numbers of triazole and ferrocenyl units at the antenna increase the light absorbing ability. The electrochemical behaviour changes with increasing ferrocenyl and triazole units.

Synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical properties of 1,2,3-triazolyl bridged ferrocenyl dendrimers through click chemistry

Perumal Rajakumar; Ayyavoo Kannan; Ramasamy Anandhan

Triazole-based novel dendrimers with ferrocenyl surface groups have been achieved through click chemistry, both by divergent and convergent approaches. The presence of more ferrocenyl and triazolyl units in dendrimers 1–4 alters the current potential curve in the voltammogram and also the absorption coefficient in the UV-vis spectrum.

Synthesis, H2PO4− and Pd2+ ion sensing and gold nanoparticle encapsulation of ferrocenyldendrimers by a green chemistry approach

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan; Devaraj Manoj; J. Santhanalakshmi

A green chemistry approach for the synthesis of three novel ferrocenyldendrimers containing a triazolyl ferrocenyl group at the periphery under microwave conditions using an ionic liquid (IL) mediated click reaction is described. The application of such ferrocenyldendrimers as sensors for H2PO4− and Pd2+ is also discussed. The ferrocenyldendrimers which are used for the synthesis of Au nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Vis, spectroscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). From the HRTEM images it is shown that dendrimer 1 stabilizes the gold nanoparticle, whereas dendrimers 2 and 3 encapsulate the gold nanoparticle.

Synthesis and Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Triazole Based Macrocyclic Amides through Click Chemistry

Ramasamy Anandhan; Ayyavoo Kannan; Perumal Rajakumar

ABSTRACT Triazole-based macrocyclic amides 1–12 with amide group as the intrannular functionality has been synthesized through click chemistry. Triazole-based macrocyclic amides 1–12 show good anti-inflammatory activity even at low concentration (50 µg/mL) when compared to that of the reference drug prednisolone. BINOL-based chiral macrocyclic amides and pyridine-based macrocyclic amides show better anti-inflammatory activity than the other synthesized macrocyclic amides. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Synthesis and cardio protective biological applications of glucodendrimers by H9C2 cell studies

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan; Gangadhara Prasadachari Vadla; Elangovan Vellaichamy

Novel glucodendrimers scaffolds containing α-d-glucopyranoside at the surface and triazole as bridging unit have been synthesized. Cardiomyocytes were exposed to normal and high glucose level in the presence and absence of glucodendrimers. Cytotoxicity studies were also carried out and the expression of metalloproteinases mainly MMP-2 and 9 was confirmed with gelatine zymography and RT-PCR gene expression studies. Cardio protective efficiency of the synthesized glucodendrimers against high glucose induced toxicity on mettalloproteinase-2 and 9 and also on H9C2 cell lines revealed that higher generation glucodendrimers 6 and 8 are more effective than the lower generation glucodendrimers.

Synthesis and Characterization of Some Novel Glycodendrimers and N-alkyldendrimers with Amide Core and Triazole Functionality through Click Chemistry

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan

Abstract The syntheses of various types of 1,2,3-triazole-based dendrimers 1–4 with sugar pyranosylazides and N-ethyl and N-heptylazides as a surface unit and benzene-1,3,5-tricorboxlyic amide as core unit through click chemistry approach are described. Synthesis and in vitro anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory studies on hypervalent pyranoside glycodendrimers with triazole bridging point

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan; Ayyavoo Kannan

Synthesis of novel glycodendrimer scaffolds containing hypervalent sugar pyranosides and triazole bridging points is described. Dendrimers with a greater number of bridging triazole units and α-d-glycopyranosyl surface groups exhibit better anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory activity than dendrimers with less number of triazole and α-d-glycopyranosyl units.

Synthesis and Optical and Electrochemical Studies on Dicationic Fluorenophanes

Perumal Rajakumar; Ramasamy Anandhan

Abstract The synthesis of 2,7-bridged dicationic fluorenophanes consisting of benzimidazole, imidazole, and benzotriazole units and their absorption, photoluminescence, and electrochemical behavior are described. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Synthesis and optical and electrochemical properties of glucose-cored ferrocenyl dendrimers

Ayyavoo Kannan; Ramasamy Anandhan; Perumal Rajakumar

ABSTRACT Triazole-based ferrocenyl glycoconjugates 1, 2, and 3 were synthesized by regiospecific copper(I)-catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) of azidoferrocenyl derivatives with glucose pentaacetylide. Higher generation ferrocenyl glycoconjugates form the stable ferrocenium cation and exhibit increased light harvesting property as revealed from cyclic voltammogram studies and ultraviolet–visible spectrum respectively due to the presence of more ferrocenyl and triazolyl units than the lower generation dendrimer.
