Surya Delviola; Ratya Anindita; Rini Mutisari

The location of this research in Pandanrejo Village, Batu City with 50 respndents. The method which was used in this research are decriptive statistics, Logistic Regression, and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). Measuring factors that affect satisfaction used four dummy variables, such as education level, group refference, training experience, and information source. And then to measure the level of satisfaction used variable of product attributes such as variety of product size, composition, expire date, procedure, permite of distribution, product availability, benefit, product information, completeness, rate of extermination ,and price. The result of logistic regression that group reference and source information are affecting the satisfaction of strawberry farmer. The obtained result of Customer Satisfaction Index method got 73,43% which means that strawberry farmer are satisfied with fungicide “X”.

Rahmawiliyanti; Nuhfil Hanani; Ratya Anindita; Syafrial

Intermediate processed cocoa and chocolate industries in the world show increasing because the chocolate products consumption is growing at a very strong pace. Indonesia is a country with the potential to become the largest exporter of intermediate processed cocoa. The objectives of this research are: to analyze the ability of production of domestic cocoa beans to meet the demand for intermediate processed cocoa industry; to analyze the factors that influence the demand for cocoa beans to produce cocoa paste, cocoa butter and cocoa powder. This research uses simultaneous equation model with 2SLS method. This study states that the cocoa beans necessity required by industry of cocoa paste, cocoa butter and cocoa powder can be fulfilled by domestic production of cocoa beans. Cocoa beans demand for cocoa paste industry is influenced by wages, cocoa beans demand for cocoa butter and cocoa powder industries. Cocoa beans demand to produce cocoa butter is affected by world cocoa price, interest rate, cocoa beans demand for cocoa paste and cocoa powder industries.

Food Self-Sufficiency Through Land Area Expansion (CGE Analysis in Indonesia)

Ratya Anindita; Agnes Quartina Pudjiastuti; Nur Baladina

This study aimed to analyze the impact of land area expansion policy of paddy and corn crops towards food self-sufficiency in Indonesia. Analyses were performed by using CGE models based on the SAM data and Input Output Table of Indonesia in 2008. The result showed that the increase of land area of paddy and corn by 4-10%, the paddy production will rise 36,21-87,93%, while the corn production is relatively constant even going down to 0,55%. If the land of paddy and corn increased by 4-10%, it will decrease the export of almost all sectors in Indonesia, except the food and beverage industry whose increased 52-118,12%, as well as fertilizer and pesticide industries whose are relatively constant. On the other hand, the land area expansion of paddy and corn 4-10% will not affect the import of this commodity. Thus, it can be concluded that the land area expansion of paddy and corn crops have a positive impact on food self-sufficiency (rice and corn) in Indonesia. Keywords: land area expansion; paddy and corn crops; food self-sufficiency; CGE models

FARMER’S INTENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION

Dwi Renita; Ratya Anindita

The purposes of this research is to describe local knowledge of farmer’s perception toward climate change and to analyze farmer’s intention toward climate change adaptation based on the theory of planned behavior. The sampling method used is simple random sampling with the population is the farmers in the research location. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis and also structural equation modeling – partial least square (SEM-PLS) for generating information regarding farners behavior toward climate change. The results showed that 57.5 percent of respondents said that the intensity of rainy season and the temperature were changing significantly and 40 percent respodents also agree that the temperature was getting higher. There was 65% of respondents said that the climate change was driven by deforestration or logging. However, there was 17.5% of respondents said that factories have caused the climate change. Impact of climate change cause increasing pests and diseases attacking paddy crops and decreasing significantly of land productivity. For the structural equation modeling, subjective norm and perceived behavior control infuence positively the intention of farmers’ adaptation toward climate change.

Supply Response and Corn Price Volatility in Indonesia

Riza Rahimi Bachtiar; Wen-I Chang; Ratya Anindita; M. Muslich Mustadjab

Corn is a strategic commodity due to its high carbohydrate and protein content. In recent years, consumption for corn has increased because of the increasing population and high demand of corn from milling industries, livestock feed industry, and food consumption. The corn production fluctuates depending on weather and the presence of pests and diseases, whereas, corn consumption increases every year. Hence, the disequilibrium between production and consumption makes price fluctuate. There are many undesirable effects on the increase, such as: decrease or increase in the purchasing power of buyers and financial loses. Therefore it is important to analyze price dynamics of corn. The objectives of this research are to analyze the supply response in corn market, analyze corn price volatility in Indonesia, and choose the appropriate GARCH (Generalised Autoregressive Heteroscedastic) model to express price volatility. This research was conducted in Indonesia, because Indonesia is one of the top corn producers in the world. The methodology of this research uses GARCH model. The empirical results show that price volatility is an important risk factor.
