A case is recorded in which bizarre metastases to the palm, sole, nailbed, nose, cheek and scalp were the first presenting signs of an unsuspected pulmonary carcinoma. Their unique appearance suggests that a precise phenomenon may be at work, the pathogenesis of which is still unknown. It has not been determined whether they are characteristic of a particular type of primary neoplasm. In the presence of unexplained skin malignancies, the possibility that they may be metastatic should be considered and a search for internal malignancy should be instituted.

Fifty‐one cases of fibrous mastopathy were studied clinically and histologically. The pathogenesis of fibrous mastopathy may be divided into three types which most likely represents a continuous spectrum of change from abundant acinar tissue and slightly increased stromal elements to abundant stromal elements and scant acinar tissue. There appears to be a correlation between the age of the patient and the type of fibrous mastopathy. The etiology of the fibrous mastopathy is obscure. Our clinical and histologic study suggests that it may be related to a changing hormonal balance.

The clinical history and autopsy findings of a patient with a cytologically malignant thymoma which metastasized widely is reviewed. The histologic structure of the primary lesion resected at thoracotomy is of prognostic significance. This patient died 5 months following thoracotomy. A significant relationship between cytologic findings in thymic tumors and subsequent clinical behavior has been denied by some observers.

Abstract A case of fibromyxoma, apparently antral in origin, presenting as a giant nasal polyp and associated with malar swelling and mild unilateral exophthalmos has been reported. Similar clinical findings in association with this uncommon tumor have not, to our knowledge, been published previously.
