Der Trend zu hoheren Fahrgeschwindigkeiten bei mobilen Arbeitsmaschinen lasst auch die heutigen hydrostatischen Antriebe an ihre Grenzen stosen. Bei gleich bleibend hohen Anforderungen an die Zugkrafte bei niederen Fahrgeschwindigkeiten mussen die stufenlos verstellbaren Antriebe nun grosere Ubersetzungsbereiche aufweisen, um hohere Fahrgeschwindigkeiten zu erreichen. Betroffen sind hauptsachlich die Kompaktlader, die Fahrzeuggattungen der mittelgrosen Radlader, sowie die Telehandler. Mit dem 2 HC 85, einem stufenlos verstellbaren hydrostatischen Getriebe mit zwei integrierten Radialkolbenmotoren, realisiert ZF ein Antriebssystem, welches die gehobenen Anforderungen des Marktes erfullt und daruber hinaus noch wesentliche Verbesserungen bezuglich Wirkungsgrad und Gerauschverhalten vorweisen kann.
