Urban growth may lead to various problems. The increasing number of citizens at urban areas may lead the increasing of demand such as new residential, public health, public transport. A city require basic infrastructure such as educational facilities, housing, clean water, sanitation, solid waste, electricity, telecommunications and so on. In the socio-economic level the increasing of city residents must be supplied with availability of jobs. A city must be managed and planned well to handle problems such as traffic congestion, air quality, water quality, water supply, energy supplies, and public health quality and so on. At this paper, we proposed tool using information technology and communication (ICT) to help local government to monitoring what currently happened in the city. We proposed application for monitoring city in single dashboard to help summarize the current condition of city. The architecture system use network sensor consisting of sensor nodes that has function to capture city condition like temperature, air pollution, water pollution, traffic situation. Also we can add another information socio-economic situation like public health service, economic indicator, energy supplies, etc. We have successfully developed the prototype of the smart city dashboard the give more accurate information of Bandung City, one of big cities in Indonesia.

The remote monitoring system is growing very rapidly due to the growth of supporting technologies as well. Problem that may occur in remote monitoring such as the number of objects to be monitored and how fast, how much data to be transmitted to the data center to be processed properly. This study proposes using a cloud computing infrastructure as processing center in the remote sensing data. This study focuses on the situation for sensing on the environment condition and disaster early detection. Where those two things, it has become an important issue, especially in big cities big cities that have many residents. This study proposes to build the conceptual and also prototype model in a comprehensive manner from the remote terminal unit until development method for data retrieval. We also propose using FTR-HTTP method to guarantee the delivery from remote client to server.

This paper presents an authentication method for telephone signals using a public key signature. An analog telephone signal needs a special signature which is robust to noise and other disturbances in the telephone line. The signature is generated from some part of the telephone signal using a robust Hash function. The Hash function works by projecting some parts of the telephone signal to N patterns of pseudo noise to produce Hash bits. The output of the Hash function is encrypted using RSA as the signature and then inserted into some other part of the telephone signal as a watermark using spread spectrum modulation without disturbing the conversation. This paper also discusses the possibility of producing false telephone conversation and the robustness of the signature.

Nowadays communities are enabled to write and share their health experiences by Internet media, and a considerable number of experts and general public alike utilize them in the knowledge of medical analysis. Therefore, there are increasing needs to process some human handwriting in medical environment. This research, we applied the algorithm used to make a documentation extraction of the human handwriting automatically. The documentation category of this paper made for the research is about diabetics disease. We conducted an extraction of documents by using a term frequency - inversed document frequency method and measured the levels of resemblance by using a vector space model. The result of percentage found from 56 human handwritings was 81.818% and the unsuitable was 18.181%.

Inhabitants daily activity form a pattern in their daily life which has important things in smart home. These patterns can be used to recognize the inhabitant activity that is useful to enhance the smart home services like energy efficiency service, where these patterns can be used as inhabitant behavior to reduce an unnecessary appliances or lightings usage based on the activities their conduct. Recognition accuracy is important things for providing particular service needs on automation process in smart home, but activity recognition faces many challenges in real world cause of diversity and complexity of the activities. Inter-subject variability activities often appear in real world situation that accuracy of recognition process can be affected. For instance, there is a possible situation where family or colleague visits to inhabitants home in long term. Non-inhabitant activities may conduct with a different way or different behavior than inhabitant does. This situation is producing activities where is not carried from legitimate inhabitant. In this paper, we propose a method to overcome the activity recognition issue that commonly occurred. Our proposed method using temporal relation approach, which can detect a non-inhabitant activity. This approach is separating detected activities from inhabitants observed activities, so the activity recognition will perform effectively. We assess the effectiveness of our approach using Activity Daily Living (ADL) provided by WSU Smart Home Project dataset.

Under unconsolidated resources, cloud computing providers have to allocate some resources to fullfil client request based on the on-demand mode. Using the applications profile, Infrastructure-as-a-Service model can be developed. Basically, Infrastructure-as-a-Service model provides resources in the form of computation power (CPU-hours unit), storage (gigabytes unit), network bandwidth (Internet data transfer, GB per day unit), and electrical power (kWh). From service availability point of view, reference model is previously developed as a backup framework. In this research, the development of cloud computing reference model for on-demand services is based on both application characteristics and resources availability. The objective of development model in this research is to decrease idle resources.

Monitoring in logistics has been a big concern in supply chain management, especially in the temperature-controlled supply chain or cold-chain. Perishable goods, like fruits and vegetables, really need real-time monitoring during storage and transport period for quality assurance. In ubiquitous computing era like now, there are literally hundreds or even thousands sensors deployed in logistics operation. A huge amount of data and numerous kinds of data will be generated by this wireless sensor network (WSN). It is becoming important to make an inference from these data to deliver relevant information to user. This paper addresses context-aware inference model for logistics monitoring. Context-aware inference model can combine multi-sensor data from wireless sensor network (WSN) and RFID implemented to deliver relevant information to user. The context-aware inference model designed has to be easy to configure, fast to process, and support high traffic of data but also can adapt with change and adversary that may happen.

In Indonesia, Bandung is the second most active Twitter user, which means a lot of tweets have been shared among Bandung people on Twitter. Tweets can be used as a data source to explore information related to the city. One example is information related to traffic congestion, such as information of location, date, and time when the traffic congestion happened. In this study, we proposed a method to filter the tweets related to traffic congestion in Bandung and to extract the information of location, time, date and image (if any). SVM with several variations of the weighting and the selection of features is used for filtering process. The results showed that the greatest accuracy rate is 83% use Binary weighting method in top-2000 features. Meanwhile, information extraction process carried out by a rule-based approach, gave satisfactory results, around 98%-100% for the extraction of date, time and URL. However, the extraction of location information only gave accuracy of about 62%. It was caused by OOV (Out of Vocabulary) and OOR (Out of Rules).

The motivation to manage energy usage at residential home in Indonesia is influenced by economics environment condition and technical reasons. Economically, it offers reduction of government subsidies and electricity bill. The environment condition aspect enables reduction of CO2 level. We consider the room controllable with interface control based on web. The room has a Zigbee hub, a lamp and sensors. The zigbee hubs report the power consumption information to the cloud server through home gateway. This paper purpose a system built on cloud platform based on context awareness. This system will accommodate the integration of services through sharing information platform either for the occupants or the electricity providers. Context awareness approach will provide intelligence on monitoring and controlling services based on user context and environment.

Today, the dominant topic of Information Technologys development are social media and cloud computing. Based on statistical data, a social networking or social media can have up to hundreds millions of active users. The amount of data users will precisely impact on investment in infrastructure to support IT services. Regarding to that condition, Cloud computing technology with the paradigm that seeing IT as a Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) is expected to deliver IT Investments cost reduction. Geosmart social media is an interactive, informative and communicative media for education, with the objective is to increase the intelligentsia of all level of generations in Indonesian society. Lectures, students, Alumni, and Parents are the main target as the users. The Geosmarts website, provide a content-based education feature, which intended to encourage the users in education process. Geosmart has collaborated social media and could computing technology to produce what so called a social cloud. Social cloud will facilitate and enhance the third parties contribution in order to add services into the Geosmarts web.
