Control of the blunting process of the residual water from a foundry

Vlad Muresan; Mihail Abrudean; Mihaela-Ligia Unguresan; Tiberiu Colosi

In this paper, a variant for the pH control of the residual water from a foundry is presented. The blunting process of the residual water, being a distributed parameters one, is modeled using equations with partial derivatives. For the numerical simulation is used a method based on the matrix of the partial derivatives of the state vector (Mpdx) associated with Taylor series.

Modeling and Simulation of the Gas Absorption Process in the Liquid Phase

Mihaela-Ligia Unguresan; Vlad Muresan; Mihail Abrudean; Iulia Clitan; Tiberiu Colosi

In this paper, a solution for the modeling and simulation of the gas absorption process in a liquid is presented. In the modeling procedure, the technological process is decomposed in two sub-processes connected in series, the first sub-process being considered a lumped parameter one, respectively the second sub-process being considered a distributed parameter one. In order to simulate, with a high accuracy, a process that includes in its structure a distributed parameter sub-process, an original method based on the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector, associated with Taylor series, is used. The modeling-simulation procedure introduces the premise to approximate the concentration value of the gas absorbed in liquid, in relation to the initial pressure from the reactor, respectively the premise of including the technological process in a concentration control structure.

Cascade PID control of some processes with distributed parameters through the (Mpdx) method with approximating solutions

Tiberiu Colosi; Mihai Abrudean; Mihaela-Ligia Unguresan; Vlad Muresan

Abstract Continuing the paper (2013) the analogical modeling and the numerical simulation of a cascade PID control diagram from Fig. 1 is presented, containing two distributed parameters processes, each one modeled through an equation with partial derivatives of second order with two independent variables. Through the numerical integration, the method of the Matrix of Partial Derivatives of the State Vector (M pdx ) is used too, associated with approximating solutions. The unitary and systemized character of this method is highlighted, considered known from the previous papers. (2009, 2011, 2013). Like in the case of paper [1], a program of numerical simulation for the entire PID cascade control scheme was elaborated, resulting a more complete phenomenological interpretation of the obtained results and performances.

Analogical Modeling and Numerical Simulation of the Residual Water Blunting Process Used in Metallurgy

Vlad Muresan; Mihail Abrudean; Tiberiu Colosi

In this paper, an application of the analogical modeling and numerical simulation of the technical processes through the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector (Mpdx) associated with Taylor series is presented. The residual water blunting process is modeled as a distributed parameters process through the usage of equations with partial derivatives. In this approach the variation of the main output signal of the process (the chemicals pH value) both in relation with time and length of the tanks is considered.

Numerical simulation of the billet's temperature in a furnace with rotary hearth

Vlad Muresan; Mihail Abrudean; Tiberiu Colosi

For a functionally metallurgical rotary hearth furnace plant, a modeling and numerical simulation method is presented, based on the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector M pdx, associated with Taylor series. There are marked out the advantages and the limits of the method, in the perspective of using it in the temperature control scheme in technological regime.

The Taylor series — Local iterative linearization method for numerical modeling and simulation of linear processes

Tiberiu Colosi; M. Abrudean; Mihaela-Ligia Unguresan

The paper presents a possible version of systemic approach to model and simulate linear, time invariant processes, highlighting the unitary and systematized character of the procedure. The results can be extended for a large and diversified category of processes, with specific applications of control systems.

Theoretical Preparatories Regarding Modelling and Numerical Simulation of Some Distributed Parameters Processes

Livia Buzdugan; Tiberiu Colosi

This paper presents a possible extension and the use of Taylor series for the numerical modeling and simulation of some processes which can be described in terms of second order partial derivative equations which depend on four independent variable (Farlow, et al., 1982). These processes may be experienced in the thermoenergetical industry as well as in the field of pollutants dispersion. The independent variable (t) represents time, with respect to which the numerical integration is made, and (p), (q), (r) are usually considered spatial coordinates. All (a....) coefficients are constants and phi(t,p,q,r), y(t,p,q,r) are considered to respect all continuity conditions in Cauchy sens

Modeling and Simulation of an Orthodontic Process

Olimpia Nemeş; Vlad Muresan; Tiberiu Colosi

The paper presents an original solution for the mathematical modeling and simulation of an orthodontic process. The orthodontic process is treated as a distributed parameter, its model being expressed using a partial differential equation, respectively the tooth movement is represented as the approximating analytical solution which verifies the mentioned equation. In order to prove the model usability, some interesting simulations are shown in the paper. The obtained model can be numerically simulated using a software application and the simulation results can be used in order to assist the dentist to establish the orthodontic treatment parameters (at the start of the treatment and during the treatment, too; for example the initial force which has to be applied, respectively its ulterior value adjustments).

Convergent control of the residual water blunting system used in metallurgy

Vlad Muresan; Mihail Abrudean; Tiberiu Colosi; Mihai Secara

In this paper, a solution for the pH control of the residual water is presented. The blunting process is treated as a distributed parameter one, its model being expressed using equations with partial derivatives. The modeling-simulation procedure is based on the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector associated with Taylor series, method that assures a very high accuracy. The convergent control structure is designed in order to obtain higher performances than in the case of using a simple control structure. The differences between the responses of the two control structures are presented in the simulations chapter, using comparative graphs.
