The work had the objective to evaluate the growth of papaya seedlings of the Solo group, under different doses of the natural fertilizers bokashi (fermented organic matter) and powderd sea algae (Lithothamnium sp). The substrate used was a mixture of soil, sand and organic compost (3:2:1, v/v). Treatments consisted of four doses of the bokashi fertilizer (0; 3; 6; 10%, v/v) and four doses of lithothamnium fertilizer (0; 3; 6; 10 g L-1), added to the substrate, before the filling of the bags. The experimental design used was completely randomized blocks, in a 4x4 factorial outline, with four repetitions and five plants per experimental plot. Evaluations were done at 15, 30, 60 and 100 days after seeding, which were: emergence (%), number of leaves, the shoot and the root length of the plant (cm), aerial, root and total dry matter weight (mg). There was significant interaction of the factors tested for the shoot length, at sixty and at hundred days after seeding; an isolated effect of the bokashi for all the analyzed variables, except for emergence, shoot length and number of leaves at thirty days after seeding. The conjugated use of the fertilizers showed a positive effect on precocity and plant height, and could be recommended in the formulation of substrate for the production of papaya seedlings.

The vegetative propagation of passion fruit can provide to obtain uniform seedlings and orchards, with the use of rootstocks with good characteristics such as tolerance to soil-borne diseases. The objective was to study methods of grafting at different ages of passion fruit plants after emergence. The experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Sector, of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), in MG, on mesh with 50% shading. The experimental design was randomized blocks in a 2x4 factorial design, two methods of grafting (cleft grafting, splice grafting) and four times in budding (15, 25, 35 and 45 days after emergence). It was evaluated: percentage of grafting success, leaf number, plant height and diameter. It is concluded that the grafting of sour passion fruit on the sweet, both in cleft grafting and splice grafting, the best time to perform is 15 days after emergence, showing an index of grafting success of 98% in both methods.

The factors influencing the final quality of the passion fruit are many, among them the quality of seedlings and the adequate management and farming practices stand out. So, the objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of yellow passion fruit cultivated with seedlings at different ages. For the establishment of the seedlings seeds of the yellow passion fruit cv were utilized. Redondo Amarelo, substrate composed of soil+sand+manure in the ratio of 3:1:1 and plastic bags for up to 8 kg of weight. The experimental design utilized was in randomized blocks (DBC) with five treatments made up of different ages (25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 days, after emergence) with four replications of twelve plants. The variables surveyed were: fresh mass of the fruit (g) longitudinal and transversal diameter of the fruit (mm), fruit shape index, skin thickness (mm), percentage of skin, juice and seed (%), total soluble solids, total titrable acidity and (pH). The use of seedlings aged 100 and 125 days after emergence in yellow passion fruit cultivation showed satisfactory results for all characteristics, deducing feasible to use. The cultivation of yellow passion fruit formed with younger seedlings, compared to other ages obtained a low productivity, lower fruit and less juice yield.

Currently, there is lack of information about cutting rooting of olive cultivars for the highlands of MantiqueiraRange, in Minas Gerais. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rooting of different cultivars using perlite andsand as substrates. Cuttings of cultivars Maria da Fe, Mission, Penafiel, Grappolo 575, Galega, Ascolano 315 andGrappolo 54 were collected in January and prepared with approximately 12 cm in length, 4 mm in diameter and 4internodes, keeping four leaves in the first two nodes. The cuttings were treated with 3 mg L
