Verscharfte Emissionsgrenzwerte und steigende Leistungsanforderungen waren treibende Faktoren fur die Weiterentwicklung der Dieselmotoren-Baureihe 4000 der MTU Friedrichshafen. Die schnelllaufenden Off-Highway-Motoren sind spezifiziert fur die Anwendungen Baumaschinen, Stromerzeugung, Bahn und Schiff. Neu im Programm ist der Marinemotor 20V 4000 mit einer Leistung von 4300 kW. Trotz gesteigerter Leistungen verbrauchen die Motoren bei Einhaltung der verscharften Emissionsgrenzwerte gleich viel oder weniger Kraftstoff.

The new MTU series 2000 marine engine

Engines for fast ships have always been a competence of MTU Friedrichshafen. With the new series 2000 CR the company is now continuing this tradition. The engines in this series use state-of-the-art technologies so they are more powerful, more economical and cleaner than the preceding 2000 series. The basic concept, charging, injection, and electronics have been redesigned. Use of the common rail injection system has given the series its name of 2000 CR.

Motoren fur schnelle Schiffe sind seit jeher eine Kompetenz der MTU Friedrichshafen. Mit der neuen Baureihe 2000 CR setzt das Unternehmen diese Tradition fort. Die Motoren dieser Baureihe verwenden modernste Technologien und sind damit leistungsstarker, sparsamer und sauberer als ihre Vorgangerbaureihe 2000. Grundkonzept, Aufladung, Einspritzung und Elektronik wurden neu gestaltet. Die Verwendung des Common-Rail-Einspritzsystems verleiht der Baureihe den Namen 2000 CR.

These high-speed off-highway engines are designed for applications in the construction machinery, power generation, rail and marine sectors. A new addition to the range is the 20V 4000 marine engine which develops 4300 kW. Despite higher power outputs and compliance with tighter emission restrictions, the engines’ fuel consumption is the same or lower than before.
