Por uma vida não colonizada: diálogo entre bioética de intervenção e colonialidade

O objetivo deste trabalho e discutir algumas nocoes desenvolvidas pelos estudos sobre colonialidade originadas por um conjunto de pensadores(as) da America Latina acerca do modo como a Modernidade surgiu estruturada como uma maneira de arranjar o poder, o saber e o ser de modo que uma hierarquia entre centro e periferia, instalados em uma perspectiva colonial, organize nossa maneira de lidar com a politica, com as ciencias e - esse e o ponto principal que o trabalho sustentara - com a propria vida. A Bioetica de Intervencao (BI), que tem como proposta politizar de modo etico e aplicado o modo de lidar com os conflitos biotecnocientificos, sanitarios, sociais e ambientais a partir da realidade latino-americana, desenvolve uma linha de pesquisa que pode acolher as criticas e contribuicoes advindas dos estudos sobre a colonialidade, sobretudo no que diz respeito as bases conceituais relacionadas com as teorias eticas e epistemologicas que a sustentam. Entre estas, especificamente, o estudo discute as relacoes existentes entre o utilitarismo aceito pela BI por meio de um consequencialismo solidario e suas inter-relacoes com a ideia de colonialidade.

El presente articulo tiene como objetivo mostrar el alineamiento de la bioetica de intervencion con las propuestas descoloniales, entendidas como criticas y alternativas al modo de la operacion de la logica de la colonialidad. El vinculo de la referida propuesta bioetica con las criticas del patron colonial ocurre a traves de proposicion de la vinculacion inexorable con la parte mas vulnerable de la sociedad. Para esta defensa de la parte mas afectada por la vulnerabilidad, se propone que ejes como la critica, el dialogo, la relacion con el Estado sean revisados desde la perspectiva de los mas vulnerables y no solo para los mas vulnerables. En este contexto, la percepcion de la interseccionalidad de vulnerabilidades es esencial.

This article highlights the process of construction, maturation and consolidation of a bioethics of intervention (BI) as a liberating bioethical proposal. Toward that end, it considers the main indicator of that characteristic to be its anti-systemic perspective, as manifested by its manifest political option and by epistemic insurgence against the epistemological domination of the bioethical knowledge produced in the countries located in the center of the capitalist world system. Críticas ao principialismo em bioética: perspectivas desde o norte e desde o sul

The principlism had a hegemonic character in the development of the bioethics since the publication of the book Principles of biomedical ethics, of Beauchamp and Childress, in 1979. This hegemony began to weaken with the first critical studies by authors from the United States and Europe in the 1990s. Immediately, however, bioethicists of Latin America also began to criticize the hegemonic and allegedly universal principlism. This article aims to systematize the criticisms of principlism and drawing on references of coloniality, described by Anibal Quijano, present two distinct groups of critics: those who make their criticisms from the North and those who make them from the South. The northern group conceptually analyzes the principialism exploring the philosophical aspects and checking its validity as a moral theory. The southern group emphasizes that the application of principialism in poor countries intensifies inequality since this theory ignores the ethical nature of social problems. The prospect of coloniality is useful when shows how Northern countries monopolize the forms of control of subjectivity, culture and knowledge production in the Western world.

Redes sociales, privacidad, confidencialidad y ética: la exposición de imágenes de pacientes en el facebook

A pesquisa teve por objetivo estudar a exposicao de imagens de pacientes promovida por medicos e cirurgioes-dentistas no facebook. A coleta dos dados foi feita entre os meses de agosto e setembro de 2013, selecionando-se, retrospectivamente, 39 imagens que haviam sido publicadas por 17 profissionais. Nestas imagens foi possivel identificar situacoes de quebra de confidencialidade e/ou privacidade. O principio do respeito a privacidade e confidencialidade das pessoas faz parte dos principais documentos internacionais relacionados com o campo da etica. Tanto o Estado como as entidades profissionais tem a obrigacao de proteger vitimas da exposicao de imagens que comprometam o direito inalienavel a privacidade. O estudo reforca que tais exposicoes trazem repercussoes negativas para pacientes, profissionais de saude e sociedade. Recomenda-se que o tema seja abordado transversalmente pelo corpo docente, com discussoes estimuladas e orientadas pelas disciplinas de Bioetica.This investigation aimed to study exhibition of patients on Facebook promoted by doctors and dentists. Data were gathered between the months of August and September 2013, through retrospectively selecting 39 images that had been published by 17 professionals. In these images, it was possible to identify situations of breach of confidentiality and/or privacy. The principle of respect for individuals’ privacy and confidentiality forms part of the main international documents relating to the field of ethics. Both the State and professional bodies have an obligation to protect victims from exhibition of images that compromise the inalienable right to privacy. This study emphasizes that such exposure has negative consequences for patients, healthcare professions and society. It is recommended that this issue should be addressed by all teachers across their institution, with discussions stimulated and guided by the disciplines of Bioethics.
