Sativumoides and Cladosporiopsis, two new genera of hyphomycetes from China

Sativumoides punicae gen. et sp. nov. and Cladosporiopsis ovata gen. et sp. nov. are described and illustrated. Sativumoides is characterized by macronematous, individual, percurrently extending conidiophores, integrated, monoblastic, apical, lageniform conidiogenous cells, and single, apical, pale brown to brown, garlic-bulb-shaped dictyosporous conidia with predominantly longitudinal septa. Cladosporiopsis is unique in possessing pigmented, apiosporous conidia seceding schizolytically from integrated, monoblastic, determinate conidiogenous cells; the conidia, arising from the sides or ends of ramoconidia, form short, acropetal chains. Sativumoides is compared with similar anamorphic genera including Triposporium, Iyengarina, Acrodictys, Actinocladium, Piricaudiopsis, Cheiroidea, Stephanoma, Domingoella, Acrogenospora and Shrungabeeja. The distinctions between Cladosporiopsis and similar genera including Cladosporium, Ochrocladosporium, Rachicladosporium, Rhizacladosporium, Toxicocladosporium, Ramularia, Bispora, Lylea and Devriesia are also discussed. Keys to these two novel genera and their morphologically similar genera are provided.

Three new species of Neosporidesmium from Hainan, China

Three species of the anamorphic fungus Neosporidesmium were collected from tropical forests in Hainan province, China. N. malloti sp. nov., N. xanthophylli sp. nov. and N. antidesmae sp. nov., and occurring, respectively, on dead branches of Mallotus hookerianus, Xanthophyllum hainanense and Antidesma ghaesembilla, are described and illustrated. A key to Neosporidesmium species is provided.

New species and record of Pseudoacrodictys from southern China

Two conidial fungi of Pseudoacrodictys were collected from the tropical forests of Yunnan Province, southern China. P. fici sp. nov. is described and illustrated from specimen collected on dead branches of Ficus benjamina. P. aquatica is recorded for the first time from China. A key to species of Pseudoacrodictys is provided.

Two new species of Taeniolina from southern China

Taeniolina euryae sp. nov. and T. schimae sp. nov. were discovered on dead branches of Eurya macartneyi and Schima superba, respectively, in tropical forests of southern China. They are described, illustrated and compared with closely related taxa. A key to species of Taeniolina is provided.

Three new species of Solicorynespora from Hainan, China

Three previously undescribed Solicorynespora species were collected from tropical forests in Hainan Province, China. S. melicopes sp. nov., S. linderae sp. nov. and S. fici sp. nov. are described and illustrated from specimens collected on dead branches of Melicope triphylla, Lindera communis and Ficus auriculata, respectively. They are compared with closely related taxa. A dichotomous key and a synoptic table to Solicorynespora species are provided.

Taxonomic studies of Ellisembia from Hainan, China

Two new species of the anamorphic genus Ellisembia were collected from tropical forest s in Hainan Province, China . Ellisembia podocarpi sp. nov. and E. photiniae sp. nov., occurring respectively on dead branches of Podocarpus imbricatus and Photinia parvifolia , are described and illustrated. They are compared with similar species.

New records of Corynesporopsis from China

Three species of Corynesporopsis - C. uniseptata, C. quercicola, and C. indica - are recorded for the first time from China. They are described and illustrated from specimens collected on dead branches of unidentified plants. The specimens are deposited in Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University, Plant Pathology (HSAUP) and Mycological Herbarium, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (HMAS).

A new species of Heteroconium from Fujian, China

Heteroconium schimae sp. nov. is described and illustrated occurring on dead branches of Schima superba. The specimen was collected from tropical forests in Fujian province of China. The type specimen is deposited in HSAUP (Herbarium of the Department of Plant Pathology, Shandong Agricultural University) and HMAS (Mycological Herbarium, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences).

A new species of Quadracaea and new records of other dematiaceous hyphomycetes from southern China

Four dematiaceous hyphomycetes collected during our continuing mycological survey of saprobic conidial fungi on decaying plant material in tropical forests of southern China, are described and illustrated. Among them, Quadracaea roureae is described as a new species. Phaeoblastophora resinae, Phragmocephala atra var. stenophora and Pseudospiropes nodosus are newly recorded from China.

New species or records of Endophragmiella and Heteroconium from southern China

Abstract Two new conidial fungi, Endophragmiella liquidambaris sp. nov. and Heteroconium phellodendri sp. nov. were collected respectively from dead branches of Liquidambar formosana and Phellodendron chinense. They are described, illustrated and compared with closely related taxa. Endophragmiella curvata and E. eboracensis are recorded for the first time from China.
