Design and evaluation of a high-performance charge coupled device camera for astronomical imaging

The Space Solar Telescope (SST) is the first Chinese space astronomy mission. This paper introduces the design of a high-performance 2K × 2K charge coupled device (CCD) camera that is an important payload in the Space Solar Telescope. The camera is composed of an analogue system and a digital embedded system. The analogue system is first discussed in detail, including the power and bias voltage supply circuit, power protection unit, CCD clock driver circuit, 16 bit A/D converter and low-noise amplifier circuit. The digital embedded system integrated with an NIOS II soft-core processor serves as the control and data acquisition system of the camera. In addition, research on evaluation methods for CCDs was carried out to evaluate the performance of the TH7899 CCD camera in relation to the requirements of the SST project. We present the evaluation results, including readout noise, linearity, quantum efficiency, dark current, full-well capacity, charge transfer efficiency and gain. The results show that this high-performance CCD camera can satisfy the specifications of the SST project.

The Effect of Shape Parameters on Hyperbolic Polynomial Uniform B-Spline Curve Model

In this paper, we have studied in depth hyperbolic polynomial uniform B-spline model with shape parameters. Based on this model, we have given an example of freedom curve modeling, and analyzed the effect that different shape parameters have on the change of the shape of the curves. We also developed a Space Freedom Surface Modeling System (SFSMS) on the Microsoft Computer. Through the system, we processed with the freedom surface modeling, gave examples for its application, and discussed how the adjustment of the shape parameter affects the change of the shape of freedom surface.

Special Environment Embedded Surveillance Platform

Field surveillance through computer and data collection system can be comparatively in high risk under rigorous mine environment such as inflammability, explicability, high humidity, lots of dust, distributed surveillance fields and long distance etc. Thus, designing a platform with high adaptability is extreme important and urgent. This paper analyzes the platform selection carefully, and furthermore, discusses the communication mechanism and data compression standard deeply. As a result, a solution of embedded surveillance platform that can be used in special environment is designed and implemented. Finally the applied intelligent surveillance system is showed.

Wormhole Router Design Based on IEEE-1355 Standard in Rugged Environment

Based on the study of IEEE-1355 communication bus protocol in rugged environment, this paper puts forward a scheme of wormhole routing in network layer. Also a prototype of this wormhole router based on FPGA in rugged environment is designed and implemented. Experiment result shows that this solution can meet the demand of IEEE-1355 communication bus.
