Abstract A series of new heterometallic compounds have been obtained by the co-crystallization of Cu(II) methoxy-substituted β-diketonates and Pb(II) hexafluoroacetylacetonate (hfac) from organic solvents. Their crystal structures were established by X-ray analysis. It is shown that the formation of heterometallic compounds proceeds with geometrical isomerization of the initial copper complexes, which can be controlled by varying terminal substituents in the ligand. Due to the ability of copper complexes to isomerize, the structure of the resulting heterocomplexes can be flexibly and purposefully changed from polymeric to discrete molecular forms. The study of the thermal properties shows that all the reported compounds are volatile and can be re-sublimed in a vacuum, with their composition and structure being retained.

The synthesis of novel dinuclear lanthanide complexes with formulas [(LnL3)(LiL)(MeOH)] (1–3) and [(LnL3)(LiL)(H2O)] (4–6) (Ln = Eu(III), Tb(III), Dy(III)) based on functionalized lithium β-diketonate (LiL) is reported. The coordination environment of the Ln(III) ion is formed by oxygen atoms of both the 1,3-dicarbonyl moiety and the acetal group. Depending on the solvent used for the crystallization, methanol or water molecules participate in the coordination with Li(I) ions affecting the crystal structure of complexes. In contrast to [(LnL3)(LiL)(H2O)] 4–6, a series of complexes [(LnL3)(LiL)(MeOH)] 1–3 showed mechanoluminescence properties, thereby demonstrating the relationship between the observed optical properties and crystal packing architecture. The magnetic measurements of [(LnL3)(LiL)(MeOH)] 1–3 revealed SMM behavior of [(DyL3)(LiL)(MeOH)] 3 at low temperatures (Ueff is 37.7 cm−1).

Abstract The review focuses on the synthesis and chemical properties of polyfluoroalkylated 2-ethoxymethylene-3-oxo esters. The scope and peculiarities of their use as organic reagents in reactions with various N-, C-, O-, mono- and dinucleophiles are discussed in detail. The high reactivity of such derivatives is employed in the construction of enaminoketone, arene and heterocycle frameworks. Particular attention is paid to applications of these building blocks as chemicals for fine organic synthesis, bioactive compounds and metal complexes synthesis.

Ketenimines are a class of versatile and highly reactive intermediates that can participate in a variety of organic reactions, such as nucleophilic additions, radical additions, [2 + 2] and [2 + 4] cycloadditions, and sigmatropic rearrangements. In this presentation, we report on a series of multi-component reactions that involve a ketenimine intermediate. These reactions could furnish diverse heterocyclic compounds, including functionalized iminocoumarin, iminodihydroqunolines, iminothiochromens, pyrrolines, isoquinolines, pyridines, β-lactams, imino-1,2-dihydrocoumarins, and benzimidazoles.
