In this research paper we present an automated rigging system for a humanoid (biped) character with complete customization and control options according to the need of the character rigger and the animator. The rigging requirements check list has been proposed for each body part by analyzing various live natural human motions and then summarizing them. The system initially provides widgets that represent human skeletal joints, which can be easily manipulated and modified according to the character type and body height. The system takes the widgets positions from the 3D space and creates the joint based skeletal structure automatically using procedural programming and then followed by creating a complete bipedal rig with custom manipulators to satisfy the animators need in a production environment.

In this paper we discuss a stand-alone system to allow the deaf or hard-of-hearing people and normal people to communicate with each other easily and fluently. We purpose a model for recognizing Malaysian Sign Language through image processing techniques and converting the visual information into textual information at real-time. In order to implement a real time hand gesture recognition system, video footage will be obtained from digital camera or cellphone camera, then hand position and location will be marked and cropping will be done to isolate them. Then the hand gestures will be recognized through image processing and matched to a prebuilt database of gestures which will be used for textual conversion on the screen. In the final step the normal person will type the text and its equivalent animation of hand gestures will be presented. Through this system, real-time recognition of Malaysian Sign Language and textual representation is done, giving more accurate results at least possible time. It will not only benefit the deaf and dumb people of Malaysia but also could be used in various applications in the technology field. This system provides the flexibility to learn Malaysian Sign Language at personal pace, at anytime and anywhere at home or at workplace.

In this paper, a procedural model has been developed for synthesizing cyclic horse motion through trigonometric functions. The system has been developed and implemented using mathematical model derived from trigonometric cyclic equations, along with forward and inverse kinematics to produce absolute gait control over the locomotion of horse character. The dynamic motion is calculated independently for each body part with user interaction and control over the speed, frequency and oscillation during runtime, for high divergence control of the simulation. The user can manipulate the simulation parameters for motion speed, body oscillation, leg impact phases and duration at runtime and our system will automatically adjust the motion of horse and gait transition according to the user input. At preprocessing level a template based horse skeletal rig is generated automatically with Inverse Kinematics (IK) controllers for the spine, neck and all four legs. The head, tail, and feets are controlled with Forward Kinematics (FK), along with scapula and sternum joints of the legs. Motion cycle is generated using the stance time and leg cycle time. Our procedural model for horse simulation can currently generate various gaits of motion with variable speed and body oscillation with controllable behavior and transition of gaits at runtime.

This article presents a novel architecture using a hybrid model for developing a Sindhi spellchecker system which has yet not been developed prior to this work. The compound textual forms and glyphs of Sindhi language presents a substantial challenge for developing a Sindhi spellchecker system and generating a similar suggestion list for misspelled words. In order to implement such a system, phonetic-based Sindhi language rules and patterns must be taken into account for increasing the accuracy and efficiency. In this research work, a simple and efficient combinational hybrid system is proposed, using three different algorithms, the Edit Distance algorithm to find the measure of similarity between two Sindhi strings. The phonetic-based SoundEx and ShapeEx algorithms are developed for pattern or glyph matching, generating accurate and an efficient suggestion list for incorrect or misspelled Sindhi words. The proposed system is established with a blend between Phonetic-based SoundEx algorithm and ShapeEx algorithm for pattern or glyph matching, generating accurate and efficient suggestion list for incorrect or misspelled Sindhi words. In this article, a table of phonetically similar-sounding Sindhi characters is presented which are grouped together along with another table containing similar glyph or shape-based character groups. The system has been successfully integrated into a pre-developed Sindhi word processer application. The Sindhi word segmentation methodology and algorithms required for the spellchecker has already been published and so are not discussed in detail in this article.

The integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in the healthcare sector has been one of the important areas of research since last two decades. The application of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is widely used in healthcare sector to provide better, reliable and secure services. RFID systems are integrated into hospital information systems and provide full automation and streamline the important modules of patient identification, staff allocation, doctors, medicines and treatments. In this paper, we propose RFID based conceptual framework for smart hospital management system which provides a safe and secure patient data management system. We also highlight the importance of RFID in healthcare domain with the help of an example case study with a working prototype application.

Hearing impaired individuals have issues to communicate with normal people. They have their own language called Sign Language (SL) to express their feeling or to communicate with others. As communication is an essential part of normal everyday life, it is particularly important for deaf people to communicate as normally as possible with others. Recent advancements in computing technologies have the potential to be applied in the field of SL recognition. These computer-based approaches are able to translate the SL into verbal language and vice-versa. This paper describes the development of a dataset for an automated SL recognition system based on the Malaysian Sign Language (MSL). Implementation results are described.

Cloud computing has been emerged as cost-effective solution to organizations for renting resources. The prime objective is to deliver on-demand resources over the Internet. In this paper, we have implemented the architecture for resource sharing between clouds (ReSA) to connect different clouds that may be under different rule, policies, management and ownership. The ultimate task is to enable clouds to borrow resource from other connected clouds to fulfill the demand of the client. We have demonstrated the implementation using java socket programing and test-bed. We further analyzed the average waiting time for resources when they are borrowed from other cloud.
