A new evolution model for B2C e-commerce market

Zhihong Tian; Zhenji Zhang; Xiaolan Guan

In order to explain the formation of the business to customer e-commerce market structure, we introduce two concepts—market trading volume and user penetration into the analytical framework for e-commerce market. Based on the modification of Barabasi–Albert (BA) model, a new model which is added with fitness parameters and more reasonable growth mechanism is proposed. The model reveals a “bubble-stable” evolutionary process which is correspondent with real e-commerce market from an initial network to a scale-free one. The simulation results show that the number of websites a buyer chooses could affect the evolutionary process of user penetration distribution, but almost not affect the stable trend of the market. In addition, the initial network scale almost does not affect the nature of network, but causes market fluctuation. The model also reveals that unfair competition among websites is the reason for the formation of structure. Hence, a new method which is calculating numbers of overlap users between each pair of websites is developed to measure the competitive strength. Then, three distinct components are found in the competitive network: a small nucleus, a secondary core and a huge bulk body.

A New Evolution Mechanism Model for B2B E-Commerce Network

Zhenji Zhang; Zhihong Tian; Xiaolan Guan

To study the structure and evolution mechanism of B2B e-commerce network, the authors propose a network with several layers description of B2B e-commerce market. The empirical analysis from Alibaba.com shows that degree distribution of the network structure follows power-law. Based on modified BA Barabasi-Albert model, a new model is proposed, adding layers, fitness parameters, and more reasonable growth mechanism. The model reveals that, the structure of the network is stable, and the average path length and clustering coefficient are small. The authors also find that the impact of parameters is not decisive, and the emergence of scale-free nature depends on the mechanism itself.

Cooperative Supply Chain Management under Asymmetric Information

Weiyang Xu; Zhenji Zhang; D. Q. Gong

This study investigates supply chain cooperative management problem. In this study, based on principal-agent, firstly we analyses cooperative management factors in supply chain including leading enterprise expected utilities, subsidiary enterprise expected incomes and leading enterprise agency cost, then the incentive contract model is constructed; Secondly the model is solved in the case of symmetric information and asymmetric information; At last, in order to make clear of the model, this paper does mathematical analysis of leading enterprise expected utilities, subsidiary enterprise expected incomes and leading enterprise agency cost. Some important conclusions are obtained: subsidiary enterprise ability, cost coefficient, absolute risk aversion factor and output variance has the same influence on leading enterprise expected utilities and subsidiary enterprise expected incomes; subsidiary enterprise ability, cost coefficient has the same influence on leading enterprise expected utilities, subsidiary enterprise expected incomes and leading enterprise agency cost; leading enterprise expected utilities and subsidiary enterprise expected incomes become bigger and bigger, but leading enterprise agency cost becomes smaller and smaller with absolute risk aversion factor and output variance decreased. etc. Leading enterprise can take on incentive measures (improving subsidiary enterprise ability, decreasing subsidiary enterprise cost coefficient.etc) to optimize supply chain management based on the common factors.

Na Wang; Zhenji Zhang; Ruize Gao

Supply chain technology innovation collaboration has the characteristics of high uncertainty and risk. Through the equitable distribution of the proceeds compact design can enhance supply chain competitive advantages and help achieve maximum benefit. It assumes a case study of technology innovation collaboration in a manufacturing enterprise, of which the enterprises’ strength and effort level are asymmetric information. This paper firstly analysis the enterprises’ profit-sharing issues in the supply chain through dynamic game. Then it creates the collaborative model with principal-agent theory, and studies the game strategy of cooperative innovation. The research is expected to provide a theoretical support for supply chain enterprises, to help the enterprises grasp the cooperative innovation rules, formulate the technology innovation collaboration strategy and improve the overall competitiveness.

The Construction of Counter Effect Evaluation Index System of Internet Public Opinion Based on EMR

Qian Wang; Zhenji Zhang; Ruize Gao

Strengthen the management of internet public opinion, and establishing the perfect public opinion supervision system has become a new important task around the world. The existing monitoring and counter mechanism of internet public opinion mainly includes public opinion monitoring, early-warning, response, neglecting the key link of evaluation, especially the evaluation of the effect of counter internet public opinion. Besides, the existing index is incomplete, unclear, or difficult to calculate. In this paper, based on the structure of internet public opinion ecology system, designing the model of ecological monitoring and response system. Relay on the decision-making layer, we get the 3 first-level indicators and giving detailed analysis then. We tend to guide the evaluation of the effect of dealing with the internet public opinion, and to improve the level of counter network public opinion.

The price-dependent newsvendor models with carbon constraints

Honglu Liu; Xiaolan Guan; Zhenji Zhang

In this paper, we incorporate carbon emission constraints into the price-dependent newsvendor models. In the two settings with carbon emission tax and cap-and-trade mechanism, respectively, we determine the newsvendors optimal order quantity and the optimal selling price simultaneously. We consider two different ways in which price affects the demand distribution, namely price only affects the location or scale of the demand distribution. The impact of carbon emission tax, carbon price and carbon emission quota on price and inventory decisions, carbon emission and profit are examined. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the analysis.
