In response to the demanding change in work environments, most companies not only depend on traditional training, but also on e-learning and emphasizing it in safety and health. The benefits and cost effectiveness of the benefits of e-learning training are trusted. Nevertheless, accidents still happen at the workplace. This has become an issue to be studied, especially on the effectiveness of e-learning training in comparison to traditional training. In this study, a framework to measure comparative effectiveness between these two learning environments was developed based on Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluation model and a case study was applied to test all the levels of the framework. These four levels include participant reaction, learning, achievements, behavior of employees, and results. The interview results indicated that there is no difference in the rating of the effectiveness of the two training methods based on Kirkpatrick’s model.

Abstract Improving the mechanical properties while joining of dissimilar alloys by FSW has been a choice of research during the past decade. Hence, an attempt has been made in the present research to join dissimilar Al alloys (AA5052 and AA6063) by addition of Copper nanoparticles in the weld joint. A 5T NC FSW machine has been employed to perform the desired task. To achieve optimum values of the process parameters, an optimization study has been carried out using Taguchi technique. The results obtained from the optimization studies and experimental investigations match very well proving the efficacy of the study. The results from the investigation show an improvement in mechanical properties when Cu nanoparticles are deposited which are further supported by microstructure and EDX analysis.

Environmental issues have become a notably prevalent concern for governments, societies and business organizations. With environmental problems such as global warming, ozone depletion, solid waste and air pollution, business organizations are considered to be the source of most of the environmental problems. In Malaysia, manufacturing industry is one of the main contributors for the economic growth. Unfortunately, it has been caused for environmental deterioration. (DOE, 2013). In order to investigate further understand GSCM among manufacturers in Malaysia, This study has carry out survey to 241 of 522 certified companies MSISO 14001 in Malaysia is 522 companies. One of the results are consistent with the study of Rao (2007) who found that there is a manufacturing company that cannot sell and distribute raw materials internally to other companies or external use as raw material and subject to confidentiality policies. It is the raw material control gives a competitive edge in the market, especially in industries

This paper discussed the descriptive analysis of staff satisfaction in education organisation. This study employed a cross-sectional study involving a total of 1042 of respondents from a university in east coast of Malaysia. The survey covers six dimensions of staff satisfaction which are leadership, staff involvement, workload, self-development, working environment and communication. From the analysis of the mean score, it reveals that the staff enjoyed moderate level of satisfaction and the findings of the study generally support the past findings in the literature. This study paved the way for in-depth investigation towards staff satisfaction at the university under study.

The present study aims to predict the mechanical properties of similar and dissimilar aluminium alloy friction stir Welded joints. The present research also addresses the challenges in joining aluminium alloys Al5083 and Al6061 of 5mm thickness at varying process parameters. A total number of 24 joints have been fabricated with a set of eight joints each for Al6061(similar), Al5083(similar) and a combination of Al5083 x Al6061(dissimilar alloy) as per the experimental plan by Taguchi technique using L8 orthogonal array. The dimensions of the plates are chosen in such a way that the weld length is fixed to 150 mm. The tensile strength and the micro hardness of the welded joints as well as micro structures have been examined. Taguchi technique has been utilized to study the optimized value of the process parameters. The process parameters for joining these have been identified as rotational speeds at 1000 and 1600 rpm, traverse speed 40 and 160mm/min and axial force of 2.5 and 3.5kn.

The growth of culturally and linguistically diverse population in Malaysia has led to many efforts to encourage or ensure that health care systems respond to the distinct needs of culturally and linguistically different patients by becoming “culturally competent”. So the implementation of OET will play an increasingly expedient role both in medication and in medical tourism. Occupational English Test is an English language proficiency test for health practitioners intending to check whether health practitioners have sufficient knowledge of English in job-related context. It is designed by Professor Tim Mc Namara under contact with Australian Federal Government and is used by Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. This study using a case study method intends to know the acceptability of OET in Malaysia. The objectives of this study are to assess Malaysian nurses’ performance in the existing OET writing test and to know their attitude towards the test. The cases are 31 nursing students from a reputed nursing college in Kuantan, Malaysia. The researcher administers some sample OET writing test questions on the cases at first so that they can have a clear idea about OET and after the test , she interviews 5 cases individually to know their view in detail. The researcher analyzes the result manually. From the test and especially from the interviews, it comes out that OET is very much acceptable to the nurses and though most them are not good in grammar, their performance in test is satisfactory on average because the task is associated with their job.
