This paper, considers a mathematical model the starter system for gas turbine engines. Model of the investigated three-stage synchronous generator has been built in the dq-coordinates. The obtained model allows one to configure the machine parameters in a wide range, as well as receive information about currents and voltages major electrical components of the machine. Mathematical modeling shown efficiency of the resulting model and adequacy of the proposed algorithms electric starter mode synchronous machine.

The method of data exchange between high performance PWM modulator and MCU

Dybko Maxim; Alexander G. Volkov; Denis V. Makarov

This paper describes an implementation of the serial peripheral interface (SPI) between a microcontroller and a FPGA in a hybrid digital control system for high power converter with increased switching frequency. Detailed description of the FPGA SPI realization is given including CRC processing. Proposed interface can be used in a digital control system for a power converter with a complicated modular structure and higher switching frequency.

Alexander G. Volkov; Gennadiy S. Zinoviev; Denis V. Makarov; Dmitry A. Shtein; Maxim V. Balagurov; Andrey V. Sidorov

In this paper detailed analysis of the electromagnetic processes in the new multizone current source inverter was carried out, resulting in the analytical ratios for the qualitative evaluation of the load currents, depending on the relative resistance of the load, as well as an external characteristics of converter by using the method of differential equations algebraization was obtained [1]. The results of this analysis are summarized for any number of converter zones working on a capacitive divider. In addition, the results of analysis are confirmed by computer simulation of three-phase multizone current source inverter by PowerSIM software.

Denis V. Makarov; Dmitry V. Korobkov; Peter A. Bachurin; Andrei V. Geist; Alexander G. Volkov; Dmitry A. Shtein

This paper proposes an approach for minimizing weight of variable-frequency constant-amplitude power generation system. The system consists of a permanent magnet generator and semiconductor converters with coupled inductors that provide aircraft power supply. The main approach to maintain an amplitude of generated voltages is using of reactive power injection into the stator as a means of regulating the stator voltage. The main results of calculations are presented.

Systems of independed power supply with AC voltage regulators at variable frequency

Gennady S. Zinoviev; Andrey V. Sidorov; Alexander G. Volkov; Sergey A. Kharitonov

In this paper construction of a system with the stabilization of the current value of the variable voltage and frequency based on AC-AC regulator with voltage boost with unity power factor function with PWM control is proposed. A mathematical model of the system is constructed. The investigation results concerning the properties of the offered AC-AC regulators and their possible applications for stabilization of voltage in power supply stand-alone systems characterized by dual-range of change of the generated voltage are presented. The approach is based on the introduction of a high frequency variable voltage-additive supply voltage.

Sergey A. Kharitonov; Dmitry A. Shtein; Peter A. Bachurin; Alexander G. Volkov; Andrey V. Sidorov; Tatiana Shults

The growth of power consumption of autonomous objects requires creation of new powerful and energy-efficient converters. This paper describes a new version of the autonomous power generation system alternating current and constant frequency with better energy-efficiency based on three-level converters. The results of computer simulation in the software package POWERSIM 9.0 are presented in the work. Two decisions to the problem of output voltage imbalance with unbalanced loads are proposed and compared in the paper.

Development and research of three-phase multizone AC-DC converters

Alexander G. Volkov; Gennady S. Zinoviev

This study is devoted to comparative analysis of new three-phase circuits of AC-DC converters: three-zone bridge circuit, two-zone bridge circuit, two-zone null circuit, as well as two-zone circuit based on one-phase bridges. It is shown that in new three-phase rectification voltage inverse voltage on gates essentially decrease and power indicators substantially improve in comparison with the currently used circuits. Total harmonic distortion of direct voltage, input current, as well as power factor calculated through computer modeling in PSIM are given.

Applying the estimation system for synchronization of thyristor rectifier operating from the permanent magnet synchronous machine

Vadim E. Sidorov; Maksim A. Zharkov; Dmitry V. Korobkov; Maxim V. Balagurov; Alexander G. Volkov

The use of adaptive estimator based on the flux linkage algorithm gives an opportunity to eliminate the speed sensor and rotor position sensor and to reduce the mass and dimensions parameters of the drive. Estimator provides the actual values of back electromotive force of the synchronous machine and that makes it possible to apply permanent magnet synchronous machine efficiently. The article presents the results of modelling of the permanent magnet synchronous machine operating on the controlled rectifier. The purposes are debugging of estimator algorithm, the comparison with the operating mode without estimator, as well as verification of the algorithm with the dynamic changes during generator operation.
