Feelings of women who experienced a high-risk pregnancy: a descriptive study

Aim: to know the feelings experienced by women who experienced a high-risk pregnancy. Methodology: qualitative and descriptive study conducted at the University Hospital of Santa Maria, in the south of the country. Participants were selected based on the list of medical records of women who attended prenatal high risk consultations. Ten women over 18 years old, considered as those who experienced a high-risk pregnancy and who gave birth not more than two years from the date of study were interviewed. Data was analyzed and interpreted according to thematic content analysis of the operative proposal. Results: the category “feelings of women who experienced a high-risk pregnancy” and subcategories such as feelings of fear, anxiety, sadness and happiness emerged from the study. Discussion: we observed the exacerbation of feelings, often contradictory, because even with fear and anxiety the patients felt happiness, which is also described in the literature.

Grupos de gestantes: espaço para humanização do parto e nascimento

Objectives: To know the contribution that groups of pregnant women have upon building knowledge about the process of parturition. Methods: A descriptive-exploratory study, with ten women who participated of groups of pregnant women. The semi-structured interviews were recorded and transcribed. The analysis was based upon thematic analysis, after approval by the Research Ethics Committee-CAAE 20722913.7.DO00.5317. Results: From the analysis of the transcripts emerged the themes: Labor and delivery from the perspective of women who participated in the groups of pregnant women; and Childbirth Humanization and Birth: Knowledge vs. Experience. Conclusion: The group of pregnant women allows women to prepare for the delivery process, as an information and exchange experiences with other participants and health professionals provide input for their choices, and thus, knowledge is built on a reciprocal basis, in a trusting and learning environment. Métodos: Estudo descritivo-exploratório, com dez mulheres que participaram de grupos de gestantes. Foi realizada entrevista semiestruturada, as quais foram gravadas e transcritas na íntegra. A análise foi fundamentada na Análise Temática, após aprovação pelo Comitê de Ética em PesquisaCAAE 20722913.7.DO00.5317. Resultados: Da análise das transcrições emergiram as temáticas: Trabalho de parto e parto sob a ótica de mulheres que participaram dos grupos de gestantes; e Humanização do parto e Nascimento: Conhecimento x Vivência. Conclusão: O grupo de gestantes permite à mulher preparar-se para o processo de parturição, visto que as informações e trocas de experiências com outras participantes e profissionais da saúde oferecem subsídios para suas escolhas e assim o conhecimento é construído de forma recíproca, em clima de confiança

A HUMANIZAÇÃO DO PROCESSO DE PARTURIÇÃO SOB A ÓTICA DE ADOLESCENTES

Objetivo: conhecer a percepcao de puerperas adolescentes acerca do cuidado recebido durante o processo de parturicao. Metodos: estudo de abordagem qualitativa e exploratoria. Foram entrevistadas 10 puerperas adolescentes, com idades entre 10 e 19 anos, entre os anos de 2008 e 2009 no centro obstetrico de um hospital de ensino de Pelotas/RS. Para analise, os dados foram agrupados em consonância com a analise de conteudo proposta por Minayo. Resultados: as adolescentes priorizam a atencao, a compreensao, o dialogo e a informacao dos profissionais de saude no processo de parturicao, definindo estes aspectos como fundamentais para o cuidado ideal. Conclusao: no entendimento das puerperas adolescentes, cuidado qualificado significa atencao, dialogo, compreensao e informacoes por parte dos profissionais acerca da evolucao do processo de parturicao. De modo geral as puerperas sentiram-se satisfeitas com o atendimento prestado. Descritores: Gravidez na Adolescencia; Trabalho de Parto; Parto Humanizado; Assistencia Perinatal.

A vivência da amamentação na ótica de mulheres: contribuições para a enfermagem

Aim: to know the experience of women about breastfeeding. Method: qualitative descriptive research. The participants were eleven women, randomly invited from the users of a basic health center. The data collection was made through semistructured interviews and the analytical procedure was thematic analysis. The research followed the 196/96 resolution and was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under number 0165.0.243.000-11. Results: the categories that emerged Popular and scientific knowledge regarding breastfeeding of women who have experienced and Family influences in the construction of knowledge in breastfeeding process. Conclusion: the interviewed women believe in the protective effect of breastfeeding and that it should be exclusively offered until the child is six month old. Moreover, they feel influenced by cultural aspects, reporting the relevance of the opinion of family and health professionals

Cuidado de enfermagem à mulher em situação de aborto: revisão integrativa

Aim: an integrative review was conducted in the data bases LILACS and MEDLINE/Pubmed, in order to know the scientific production of nursing regarding the care provided to women undergoing abortion process, in the national and international context. Method: articles published in the period of 2007 to 2012 were selected, located by the descriptors abortion, nursing care and nursing. Results: 11 articles comprised the corpus of the study. Conclusions: nursing professionals need to reflect on the quality of care in cases of abortion, focusing their actions on the subject. Training and sensitization of workers can favor changes in paradigms and humanize care

Rights of parturient under the optics of escorts

Objetivo: investigar el conocimiento del acompanante acerca de los derechos de la madre durante el parto. Metodo: es un estudio cualitativo descriptivo. Participaron 10 acompanantes que se encontraban junto a las adolescentes embarazadas en un hospital universitario en el sur de Brasil, a partir de noviembre de 2008 a noviembre de 2009. Los datos recogidos fueron elegidos para el analisis tematico. El proyecto de investigacion fue aprobado por el Comite de Etica en la Investigacion bajo Dictamen 031/2008. Resultados: Se identifico la falta de conocimento de los acompanantes acerca de los derechos de la mujer en trabajo de parto y la resistencia de algunos profesionales de la salud para aceptarlos en la sala de partos. Conclusion: la humanizacion de la atencion durante el proceso de parto esta relacionada con la conciencia de las mujeres parturientes, acompanantes y los profesionales de la salud en la aplicacion de la Ley del Acompanante, por lo que el equipo de salud tiene un papel importante en el esclarecimiento de estos derechos a los usuarios

A utilização da técnica de grupo focal: um estudo com mulheres quilombolas

This article discusses an experience using the focus group technique with women from a quilombo, or community of descendants of African slaves in Brazil. This is a descriptive qualitative anthropological study of 13 women from a quilombo in rural Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The focus group technique allowed an approach, interaction, and exchange of knowledge, experiences, perceptions, and feelings, in addition to problematization and in-depth discussion concerning the meaning of womens health care in the quilombo. The focus group was a prime space for learning and understanding the life experiences of quilombola women and the meanings they assigned to the experiences. In order to use the focus group technique, researchers must display creativity, sensitivity, attention, respect, nonjudgmental attitudes, flexibility, prior preparation, and knowledge of the technique and specific study topic.This article discusses an experience using the focus group technique with women from a quilombo, or community of descendants of African slaves in Brazil.
