Percepção da morte pelo paciente oncológico ao longo do desenvolvimento

ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study is to undertake a non-systematic revision of the bibliography dedicated to the perception of the experiences of ‘the coming death and dying’ in the perspective of the oncologycal patient, in accordance with the different phases of lifespan. The results show that, in children, the perception of death is modified gradually as the thought and the language develops. In adults, the conception of death depends on their physical and psychological experience. Finally, in elderly people the death is better accepted and its perception depends on the satisfaction previously gained during the lifespan. Bearing that in mind, specialized bibliography emphasizes that the perception of the coming death is still an eminently individual experience, therefore, the subjectivity of each oncologycal patient should be considered. Concluding, this study intends to emphasize the transformations in the perception of the coming death, during the illness development, coping with the presence of death as an integrating part of life.

A Brinquedoteca como possibilidade para desvelar o cotidiano da criança com câncer em tratamento ambulatorial

A proposta deste estudo e desvelar o sentido de Ser-crianca com câncer em tratamento ambulatorial, utilizando a brinquedo-teca como possibilidade de favorecer a expressao, pela crianca, de seu mundo cotidiano. Participaram sete criancas entre tres e nove anos, com diagnostico de algum tipo de câncer infantil. A fim de desvelar o sentido das vivencias das criancas com câncer, foi realizada uma analise a luz da fenomenologia existencial de Martin Heidegger. A crianca-com-câncer configurou-se como um ir e vir permeado ora pela autenticidade, quando a crianca assumia sua doenca e seu ser-para-a-morte, ora pela inautenticidade, quando se deixava levar pelo modo de ser da decadencia dos familiares e da equipe de saude. O brincar pode favorecer um rico acesso as vivencias da crianca gravemente doente.The purpose of this study is to learn the meaning of being-a-child with cancer submitted to ambulatory treatment and using the toy library as a possibility to enable their expression about their world. Participants were seven children of ages 3 to 9 years, who had been diagnosed with some kind of childhood cancer. With the objective of learning about the meaning of these experiences to children with cancer, an analysis of these data was performed based on Martin Heideggers existential phenomenology. The child-with-cancer showed a movement that was permeated sometimes by authenticity, when the child assumed the disease and their being-toward-death and also by the lack of authenticity, when they were influenced by the decadence attitude of their relatives and health team members. Playing provided a rich contact with the existence of these severely ill children.

Religion and Spirituality: the Perspective of Health Professionals

O estudo teve por objetivos compreender como profissionais de saude significam religiosidade e fe dos pacientes em tratamento de câncer, e como experienciam esse fenomeno. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa-descritiva, sob o referencial de analise fenomenologica em Stein e Ales Bello, um modo de compreender o ser humano na sua totalidade - fisica, psiquica e espiritual. A maioria dos profissionais de saude se diz espiritualista, dois sao catolicos, um medico se diz budista e uma medica espirita. Acreditam que a religiao e inerente a todo ser humano. Os convictos de suas religioes creem na protecao divina e reconhecem a religiosidade como sustento e conforto para o paciente e seus familiares enfrentarem a situacao de adoecimento. Eles esperam que esses enfermos vivam a sua fe com prudencia e sempre aderindo a realidade.Este estudio tuvo por objetivo comprender como los profesionales de la salud le dan significado a la religiosidad y a la fe de los pacientes en tratamiento de cancer, y como ellos experimentan ese fenomeno. Se refiere a una investigacion cualitativa-descriptiva, bajo el referencial del analisis fenomenologico de Stein y Ales Bello, un modo de comprender al ser humano en su totalidad - fisica, psiquica y espiritual. This is a qualitative-descriptive study, using the phenomenological framework as set out by Stein and Ales Bello, as a way of understanding the human being in its totality - physical, mental and spiritual. Most professionals report they are spiritualists, two are Catholics, one physician is a Buddhist and another is a Spiritist. They believe that religion is inherent to all human beings. Professionals convicted of their religion (less than half) believe in divine protection and recognize religiosity as a support and comfort for patients and their families in coping with illness. They expect patients to live their faith with prudence, never losing sight of reality.

Equipe de enfermagem: experiência do cuidar de criança com cancer nos plantões noturnos

The present study aimed understanding some aspects of the experience of a nursing team that take care of children with cancer in night shifts. Therefore, the author used a qualitative methodology--phenomenological method--that enabled her to analyse the declarations of the nursing team about their experience. The convergences of their speech were analysed and some units of meaning were identified in order to contribute to institutionally assure the necessary work conditions to the nursing personnel as well as to prepare the team to face these circumstances.Este trabalho se propoe a desvelar algumas facetas da experiencia de uma equipe de enfermagem que cuida de criancas com câncer nos plantoes noturnos. Para tanto, recorri a uma metodologia qualitativa - metodo fenomenologico - que me possibilita uma analise compreensiva dos depoimentos da equipe de enfermagem que vivencia esta experiencia. As convergencias dessas falas sao analisadas e possibilitam a identificacao de algumas unidades de significado que podem contribuir com subsidios para garantir institucionalmente as condicoes minimas de trabalho para equipe de enfermagem, bem como prepara-la para lidar com tais circunstâncias.

...E a luz está se apagando... vivências de uma criança com câncer em fase terminal

El nino frente a la posibilidades de morir se enfrenta con la muerte de manera muy particular, pues la esperanza qua hasta ese momento se mantenia, pasa a modificarse ante el impacto de la realidad, y empieza a reactivar sentimientos iniciales de desesperanza y dolor por la separacion de las personas amadas. El objetivo de este estudio es acompanar a un nino en fase terminal utilizando como trayectoria el referencial fenomenologico. Se hicieron doce visitas a un nino hospitalizado, con cancer, en fase terminal. Durante ese acompanamiento esa criatura pudo expresar situaciones relevantes en su proceso de vivir, asi como revelar con gran intensidad varios miedos, tales como el de morir, de estar sola, de abandonar a las personas queridas, por ejemplo. Ante ello, vemos la necesidad de preocuparnos con temas relacionados con las emociones y los sentimientos de ese ser que camina inexorablemente hacia la muerte y que debemos buscar los posibles modos de ayuda.The child with a chance of dying faces death in a very peculiar way, because the hope that he or she managed to keep up to this moment changes with the impact of reality reactivating the first feelings of despair and pain for the separation of the loved ones. The main goal of this study is the attendance of a child in a terminal face, using as a path the phenomenological reference. Twelve attendances have been done with children in terminal faces, where they were able to express significant situations of their living process, and reveal with great intensity many fears, like the ones of dying, of being lonely, of leaving the ones they love, among others. Before this we see the necessity of worrying with matters interrelated to the feelings and emotions of these children who walk towards death, taking into consideration the possible means of help.

Apoio emocional oferecido pela equipe de enfermagem à criança portadora de câncer e à sua família

Este trabalho se propoe a desvelar facetas do oferecimento de apoio emocional a crianca com câncer e a sua familia pela equipe de enfermagem. Para tanto, utilizou-se metodologia qualitativa que possibilitasse uma analise compreensiva dos depoimentos da equipe de enfermagem que vivencia esta situacao. As convergencias dessas falas sao analisadas e possibilitam a identificacao de algumas unidades de significado que podem contribuir com subsidios para nortear o oferecimento de apoio emocional pela equipe de enfemiagem.

O significado do cuidar de crianca com câncer visão de enfermeiras

Sharing experiences with nurses that assist the oncologic child led us make an investigation to clarify the meaning of this caring. The phenomenological method was used and we listened to such nurses speech. The hermeneutics of these speeches shows that this caring has two features: - how the oncologic child exibits himself to the nurse; - what this caring means to this child. This knowledge permits us find one way to understand the oncologic child.
