The objective of this study is to reflect on the organization and development of nursing research in Brazil, pointing out some knowledge advances and limits until the moment, as well as indicating some of the challenges for the research in nursing. One of these challenges would be establishing the relation between nursing and care.O objetivo deste estudo e fazer uma reflexao sobre a organizacao e o desenvolvimento da pesquisa em enfermagem no Brasil, apontando alguns avancos e limites do conhecimento ate entao produzido, bem como pontuar alguns dos desafios para a pesquisa em enfermagem, dentre esses, a busca de caminhos que incorporem efetivamente a sua relacao com o cuidar.

This work presents the results of an experience which aimed primarily at the evaluation of the Political-Pedagogical Project - PPP of the nursing undergraduate program from UNIOESTE (Cascavel town Campus) and at pondering on a new curricular proposal for that program. Thus, a research project was designed to be used by all professors teaching that program, with the participation of students, former students, and professionals working on the health care delivery network, where field work can be carried out through practical activities and training periods for the students. The data gathered by them have been used as subsidies for a proposal to build a new political-pedagogical project, that was took effect in the year 2003. Besides designing a new pedagogical proposal, strategies for a continued evaluation of the PPP implantation process have been defined.This evaluation is to be performed at the end of each term. O estudo relata uma experiencia no acompanhamento de Enfermagem, assessoramento pedagogico e agricola desenvolvido em uma comunidade de assentados sem-terra na zona rural da cidade de Cascavel, estado do Parana, que teve como premissa basica a integracao docente/discente, oferecendo oportunidade de socializacao do saber, integracao teoria e pratica e contato direto com a comunidade. Aponta para a necessidade da enfermagem compreender melhor este tipo de realidade buscando, atraves da observacao e vivencia, uma visao critica com possibilidades de intervencao.
