This paper concept focuses more on an analytical discussion of employee’s self-esteem from the perspective of emotional intelligence through the personality of leaders in the workplace. This is one of the challenges the application of psychology in the organization currently based on human capital. This discussion encompasses the conceptual of self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and personality, purpose of study, the influence, challenges and outlook. In fact, human capital development should be along the physical and material development of the country that we do not deny the growing momentum ahead of the years. All employees in any organization as a human entity that should be a high capacity of human capital in terms of emotional intelligence to produce the output and quality workmanship and value in the steady integrity. Then, the leader in the workplace should have a strong emotional intelligence to be able to translate into a treatment and a dynamic personality in influencing a more positive work climate. The end of this paper will demonstrate the need for all leaders have emotional intelligence that is based on the strength of the affective and personality ideal as a catalytic force to help enhance employee self-esteem. It also would allow employees to be able to form effective human resources.

The growth of construction industry in Malaysia is stimulated by various mega infrastructure projects. Due to this, the competent construction workers become the catalyst in realizing the goals. Using mixed method approach in explanatory research, this study aimed to analyze the training needs based on 300 Indonesian construction workers’ competency. Findings showed that there are sig-nificant differences between knowledge and skills possessed by the Indonesian workers, based on two types of training; theory and practical. However, the training on skills is considered critical as it is a need for the Indonesian workers to fulfil the job requirements in Malaysia.

Purpose This study aims to investigate the influence of personal factors on the buying behavior of consumers with the intentions of sales promotion in the fashion industry. Precisely, it focuses on the marketing techniques and practices in sales promotion activities to influence the buying intentions of consumers in personal ways. Design/methodology/approach Based on a comprehensive literature review of personal factors, sales promotion and buying behavior, this study has applied a positivist approach to collect data in quantitative way through questionnaires-based survey. The study has analyzed the collected data using structural equation modeling through smart partial least square. Findings Personal factors and its sub-dimensions such as market maven, stability and open minded have demonstrated a positive relationship in the conceptual construct. In the same manner, sales promotion and its sub-dimensions like social factors and physical layout have also positive effects. Research limitations/implications This study is only limited to the fashion industry of Pakistan and future research may be conducted in other services and manufacturing industries. Future research may assess the role of moderating variables like gender. Practical implications This study clarifies the influence of personal characteristics on consumers buying behavior in sales promotion activities in the fashion industry to achieve business objectives. Originality/value By integrating personal factors and sales promotion literature, the main contribution of this paper is the analysis of personal characteristics and promotional practices in the fashion industry of Pakistan, during Eid-ul-Fitter holidays to enhance the consumers buying behavior. Precisely, this study has assessed the effect some unique characteristics of consumers like market maven, stable, open minded and agreeable on their buying behavior in sales promotion activities. This study has apprised marketing professionals to apply the conception of personal characteristics in sales promotion activities to boost up the buying behavior of consumers in enthusiastic way.

Effectiveness of inventory management is a vital part in the manufacturing organization to be more competitive. The previous studies have indicated that there are several factors influencing the effectiveness of inventory management in the organization but there is lack of researchers who carried out the research in the manufacturing small medium enterprise in Johor. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify the problem of inventory management faced by the manufacturing small medium enterprise and also to determine the factors that will influence the effectiveness of inventory management. In completing this research, 80 employees were selected randomly from the manufacturing small medium enterprise in Batu Pahat, Johor and they were requested to complete questionnaires. The result have shown that the problems of inventory management faced by manufacturing organization were underproduction, overproduction, stock out situation, delays in the delivery of raw materials and discrepancy of records. The factors, documentation/store records, planning, knowledge of employees/staff skill have shown to significantly influence the effectiveness of inventory management while the funds have shown slightly significant influence on the inventory management in manufacturing small medium enterprises. This quantitative study is important to the manufacturing organization in Malaysia because it provides the guidelines to the employers of manufacturing small medium enterprises in Batu Pahat, Johor.

This paper aims to discuss the relationship between service innovation and green economy in the automotive industry. In Malaysia, the automotive industry is known to be one of the industries that contribute significantly towards green economic. The automotive industry is described as a fragmented process implementation requires involvement of varying combination of several departments across the supply chain spectrum and organizations. The green economy of Malaysia’s automotive industry is reported to be new in the industry for its improvement have inspired this study initiative. Appropriate process adopted by managers are capable in bringing resources and reducing the adversarial relationships among divisions for greater performance. The purpose of this study is to unveil the extent of new business model namely STOF on the performance of green economy automotive industry. In the streams of existent service innovation, a universal overview of the literature will be discovered in this study. In this fast-emergent arena, one of the most crucial components of the automotive industry is service innovation. The success of green economy depends on the success of service innovation to the companies and mediating effect of core competencies in relationship between STOF Model and green economy. The core competencies would be mediating effect for measuring factor of (service, technology, organization and finance) towards green economy where the factor is crucial point in participation along with the service innovation management. Thus, this study is relevant to academia and manager level for further research towards improving service innovation management and enhance green economy in automotive industry.

The study is to identify the condition of migrant workers in Malaysia by looking at the case of workers from Bangladesh who migrates to Malaysia in search of employment. One of the primary reasons they want work abroad either temporarily or permanently is because Malaysia has offers a long term benefit for their skills and exposure to a different culture and practices. Their joyful experiences were often unnoticed as it goes hand in hand with the prejudices of their difficult working journey. Their agony of this minority of immigrant apparently caught more attention compared to the pleasure.
