Mapping urban green open space in Bontang city using QGIS and cloud computing

Fahrul Agus; Ramadiani; W Silalahi; A Armanda; Kusnandar

Digital mapping techniques are available freely and openly so that map-based application development is easier, faster and cheaper. A rapid development of Cloud Computing Geographic Information System makes this system can help the needs of the community for the provision of geospatial information online. The presence of urban Green Open Space (GOS) provide great benefits as an oxygen supplier, carbon-binding agent and can contribute to providing comfort and beauty of city life. This study aims to propose a platform application of GIS Cloud Computing (CC) of Bontang City GOS mapping. The GIS-CC platform uses the basic map available thats free and open source. The research used survey method to collect GOS data obtained from Bontang City Government, while application developing works Quantum GIS-CC. The result section describes the existence of GOS Bontang City and the design of GOS mapping application.

Scilab software as an alternative low-cost computing in solving the linear equations problem

Fahrul Agus; Haviluddin

Numerical computation packages are widely used both in teaching and research. These packages consist of license (proprietary) and open source software (non-proprietary). One of the reasons to use the package is a complexity of mathematics function (i.e., linear problems). Also, number of variables in a linear or non-linear function has been increased. The aim of this paper was to reflect on key aspects related to the method, didactics and creative praxis in the teaching of linear equations in higher education. If implemented, it could be contribute to a better learning in mathematics area (i.e., solving simultaneous linear equations) that essential for future engineers. The focus of this study was to introduce an additional numerical computation package of Scilab as an alternative low-cost computing programming. In this paper, Scilab software was proposed some activities that related to the mathematical models. In this experiment, four numerical methods such as Gaussian Elimination, Gauss-Jordan, Inverse ...

Comparative Analysis of Tsukamoto and Sugeno Fuzzy Methods For Procurement Optimization

Fahrul Agus; Hairunnisa Hairunnisa; Septya Maharani

Baseline characteristics of students’ knowledge in the concept of learning technology is required. One is the students learning style characteristics including attitudes, cognitive and psychomotor or skills. Then, characteristics of learning styles based approach sensory preferences, including visually, auditory, and kinesthetic or learning by doing/movement and touch. In this study, methods of teaching as a learning process consisting of multimedia-based teaching, lectures, demonstrations, problem solving, discussion, exercises (drill), case studies, frequently asked questions, and experiment. Three types of questionnaire consisting of the distribution characteristics of student learning styles, the tendency of students learning methods, and the tendency of lecturers teaching methods have been implemented. In order to determine the grade level of each questionnaire with grade visual (V), auditory (A), kinesthetic (K), auditory-kinesthetic (AK), and visual-auditory (VA) have been exploited. The results showed that the relationship between these three variables has yielded a value of 68.2%. It means that the FIS method could be used in order to assess the performance relationship.applicant selection system by using Tahani fuzzy logical method and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). This research is designed due to the job applicant selection system that hasn’t been optimized so that the management of an institution as well as a company faces some difficulties and barners in selecting the perfect human resources to be hired. The method applied in this research are Tahani fuzzy logical method and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) producing web application-based software system that can handle the job applicant selection process by analyzing the data of job application as well as job applicant’s data. This kind of system produced some outputs consisting of job-applicant candidate rank, ideal job applicant rank, and also final rank.

Analytical hierarchy process for land suitability analysis

Rahmat Sholeh; Fahrul Agus; Heliza Rahmania Hatta; Tarbiyatul Munawwarah

In the Agricultural Development Zone in East Kalimantan, inefficient land use is continuing to occur. Many of land utility planned by individual or by group of local farmers still using traditional way, in identification of suitable crops for their farm. The method used is based on their experience and their ancestor guidance. It is important to formulate scientific method that can help to recommend suitable crops for specific land in order to help reduce inefficient use of land used for farming. This study introduce the concept of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) in analytical study of land suitability, thus can help decision-makers to determine suitable crops for certain area. Using AHP to determine the best crop from four alternatives that used in this study, the result obtained from this study has shown that Cassava is the most suitable crop for the farm land that analyzed in this study, followed by Soybean on the second place.
