Designing size of batik shirt for male college student in Surakarta using anthropometric data (Case study: Male college student of industrial engineering major in Surakarta)

Bambang Suhardi; Alifah Khairina; Fakhrina Fahma

Batik is one of the Indonesian culture that is growing very fast, proved with inaugurated batik into the world cultural heritage by UNESCO. Batik should be developed in various aspects in order to meet the needs of consumers, one of them in batik shirt size aspect. But unfortunately in terms of size, batik still has the disadvantages, there are differences in male size batik shirt between one batik shop and other batik shop. This makes the performance of selling batik is not optimal because consumers have difficulty in finding the appropriate size of batik shirt with anthropometry, eg in shop A consumer obtains batik shirt with size M but when it is at the store B, this consumers gain size L. This will make consumers confused while looking for the appropriate batik shirt size based on their anthropometry. The author tried to make a proposal in batik shirt size corresponding with male college student anthropometric data of Industrial Engineering Major of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) with K-Means cluster method to obtain the appropriate size. First determined the desired number of clusters which is four cluster size : S, M, L and XL. Then the anthropometric data of students grouped by cluster K-Means method to get male size batik shirt according to anthropometric data of male college student of Industrial Engineering Major in Surakarta.

Conceptual design for dough processing integrated machine to obtain uniformity of karak size in traditional karak industries

Hadid Triyono; Ilham Priadythama; Fakhrina Fahma

Production of karak at this point still has problems, especially from the aspect of production. Problem on production aspects include technology or equipment, continuity of production and uniform geometry. Karak mashing process is still done manually so its produced a dough that is less homogenous. While in the process of molding karak, the dough must be molded in the form of block and compacted, so that the force used when slicing will be even greater. During the process of slicing, the dough blocks sliced crosswise with a certain angle. It certainly affects the outcome karak pieces because the slicing is done manually. If workers have a arm tired then karak will decrease the quality, especially on uniform geometry. In this research, the production process changes that replace mashing by milling, molding replace with rolling and slicing replace with cutting to reduce the workload of employees. Consequences of changes in the production process that is required production technology to supports the new production process. Design of production technology has been tailored to the needs of producers and conditions of traditional karak industry.

Defects analysis of Boeing 737-800 cabin using six sigma method at PT. XYZ

Yessy Rochmawati; Fakhrina Fahma

PT. XYZ is a company in the field of international aviation industry engaged in the business of Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) of aircraft. The company has a special unit involved in addressing the maintenance cabins called cabin maintenance unit. This unit has a defect record which shows the most commonly defects are found in Boeing 737-800 cabin. Thus, this research is focused on improving the quality Boeing 737-800 cabin using Six Sigma DMAIC method. This method is used to continuous improvement, so as to achieve zero defect. The results of sigma level showed that subjects had a broken placard level of 3.73 and 3.83 unlevel table. Sigma level not achieved in both subjects, so an improvements must be made in turns of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), training for mechanics, control the quality of aircraft cabin components in the warehouse, and focus on the inspection of aircraft components.

Customer requirement analysis of driver's seat design using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) case study: City car

Fakhrina Fahma; Irwan Iftadi; Nerissa Arviana Putri

City car is a vehicle that suited for densely urban areas. One thing that requires attention when buy a city car is automobile seat comfort - this studys focus is drivers seat -, In general a study of automobile seat comfort is still focused on the ergonomic aspects. Automobile drivers seat design which only focused on ergonomic aspects is not sufficient to meet the comfort expected by customers. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze customer requirements based on voice of customer. There are two goals of this study. First, to identify the customer requirements of drivers seat design. Second, to get the design concept of comfortable drivers seat. This study is using Quality Function Deployment method that giving priority of attributes based on customer requirements. This method conducted House of Quality that connects the voice of customers and technical characteristics. Refers to the results of this study, elected concept drivers seat design is K6 (contour fit the curve of buttock, coating material from smooth synthetic leather, bright colors and adjust cars interior color, trim design is a combination of straight lines and cross lines, seat has a logo and recliner from composites).
