Uso do conceito de aprendizagem em estudos relacionados ao trabalho e organizações

A literatura em comportamento organizacional apresenta diversos estudos referenciando o conceito aprendizagem aplicado no âmbito das organizacoes. Porem, verifica-se o uso pouco critico ou sistematico deste conceito. O objetivo do presente artigo consiste em realizar uma analise conceitual do termo aprendizagem, justificando sua transposicao para estudos organizacionais. Aplicaram-se tecnicas de analise conceitual propostas por Ryle. Como resultado, verificou-se que a natureza multifacetada do conceito de aprendizagem favorece o advento das diversas definicoes associadas a ele. Efeitos de variáveis individuais e contextuais sobre desempenho individual no trabalho

This paper aims to empirically test a theoretical multilevel model for the prediction of individual performance at work. Antecedent variables, isolated or in interaction, were age, gender, function, scholarity, period of function and perception of learning support, in the individual and contextual levels, and satisfaction at work, an individual variable. This study was accomplished in a public corporation which deals with agricultural research in a national scope. The participants (N = 808) were distribute in 45 central and noncentral units for the Brazil. Data collection was done online, by e-mail. The multilevel results confirm the hypothetic theoretical model and make evident that the performances variance were predicted by different individuals and context variables, isolated or in interaction.

Percepção de cultura organizacional: uma análise empírica da produção científica brasileira

The present text aims at surveying and revising the principal recent national empirical studies, between 1996 and 2001, on the perception of organizational culture. The method has included the sistematic analysis of scientific journals from the Business Administration and Psychology areas. The results have indicated that the research on perception of culture uses, in general, qualitative methods, with emphasis on case studies, adopting, including, diffuse concepts of culture organizational. The themes under study are ample and non complementary. It is concluded that the area has significant theoretical and methodological limitations, which leave gaps towards the full development of the field of study.

Suporte à aprendizagem informal no trabalho: uma proposta de articulação conceitual

Analyzing the state of the art in organizational behavior, we identified a lack of distinction between the types of action that are expected at different stages in supporting the occurrence of learning as well as the need for a systematic theoretical proposition about the support for informal learning in its different phases. This article aims to propose a theoretical model based on the stages of psychosocial support for informal learning, according to the characteristics and qualities of the different stages of the concept of informal learning at work. Emphasizing the social learning theory, social cognitive theory and the hierarchy of learning strategies, this study highlights the importance of psychosocial support, taking into account the theory of reciprocity in social relations. Based on a literature review, its proposed a classification of the concept of support considering the phases through which the concept of learning takes place, from acquisition till the individual to application at work. The support for learning is discussed considering the procedural stages of acquisition, retention, maintenance, generalization and transfer of knowledge, skills and competencies that must be expressed as tangible and observable results at work routines. Thus, it becomes relevant to investigate what specific type of action will increase the chance of learning and its transfer to work, taking into account the learning process steps. The study of formal learning is emphasized in the organizational behavior literature, through training, development and education programs. Little attention is given to study informal learning at work. The main limitation this study that is the proposed classification of the concept of learning support has not been tested empirically, although the literature indicates support for learning as the main determinant of the impact of training. Regarding the contributions of this study, it is expected that the classification theory presented is the first step in systematizing the concept of learning support. As a research agenda is proposed the empirical proof of the classification that has been proposed, including the development and psychometric validation of an instrument that will guide the conduct of the research and operationalization of each one of the proposed steps.

Discussão sobre algumas contribuições da modelagem multinível para a investigação de desempenho no trabalho

O investimento no capital intelectual tornou-se o pilar norteador das acoes de gerenciamento de pessoas. A literatura em comportamento organizacional investigada enfatiza o efeito de variaveis de contexto no desempenho dos individuos. Faz-se mister compreender como se da o impacto dessas variaveis segundo seus niveis de analise. O presente artigo discute contribuicoes potenciais da modelagem multinivel na investigacao de desempenho no trabalho. Discute, ainda, a aplicacao dessa modelagem para compreensao de fenomenos comumente investigados em comportamento organizacional. Tais contribuicoes poderao favorecer a estruturacao de modelos preditivos que poderao melhor capturar o significado da inclusao de variaveis tipicas do contexto laboral.

Análise profissiográfica e mapeamento de competências nas instituições de segurança pública

Continuous professionalization of the quality of the services provided to the community by the public security institutions has been propelled by the application of practices and principles from human resources and management of people at work. Such practices refer to the definition of duties and responsibilities of a post in accord with the competency profile required for the performance of the post. Important sources of input to the referred practices regard the application of professional profiling and of competency mapping to the reality of the public security institutions, vital to the planning of personnel development actions and to the quest for competent performance. The present work aims at discussing issues of methodological nature and the practical implications deriving from the application of these tools, namely, professional profiling and competency mapping, in law enforcement institutions, indicating the limits and the possibilities in the context of public security. The bibliographic study of the main national administration and psychology periodicals was conducted with the view of proposing a method for competency and professional profile mapping and its critical analysis in terms of applicability within the reality of the organizations, based on the analysis of the publications on the theme. Possibilities are presented herein for the acting in the context of public security, integrating the techniques of professional profile mapping.

Mapeamento de Competências de Suporte e de Apoio Pedagógico e Administrativo de Profissionais que atuam na modalidade a distância

o presente estudo teve como objetivo diagnosticar, empiricamente, as competencias profissionais (tecnicas e comportamentais), de apoio e suporte administrativo, pedagogico e secretarial, de cursos a distância ofertados no âmbito da Universidade Aberta do Brasil. Por meio de duas etapas empiricas foi realizada triangulacao de dados, que envolveu fase qualitativa, composta por analise documental e realizacao de nove entrevistas semi-estruturadas, e fase quantitativa, com aplicacao de questionario totalmente estruturado. O tratamento dos dados foi feito por analise de conteudo e analise estatistica. Os resultados indicaram baixas lacunas de competencia, o que sugere que as atividades de captacao, treinamento e desenvolvimento de competencias provavelmente tem sido realizadas de forma condizente com as necessidades das atribuicoes das equipes secretariais e de apoio. Recomenda-se, para pesquisas futuras, que se utilize avaliacao por multiplas fontes e a validacao psicometrica do instrumento de competencia, para identificar suas evidencias de validade interna e externa.

Análise psicométrica da escala de heteroavaliação de estilos de liderança

Leadership is a complex issue and widely researched in organizational behavior. This article aims to describe the process of creation and initial tests of validity of a leadership styles scale. We conducted three studies, involving 2,510 workers. The first study, a cross-analysis, shows evidence of psychometric validity. The second study comprises the confirmatory factor analysis of the scale. Finally, the third one presents the criterion validity based on the analysis of Pearson correlation with job satisfaction. Initial results indicated a scale of 15 items and two-dimensional structure with the factors Focus on People and Focus on Results. A first analysis of structural equation revealed a marginal adjustment of the hypothesized model, with suggested deletion of four items, and confirmed the factor structure tested with good fit. The scale showed a positive and significant correlation with job satisfaction.
