Os desafios do processo de expatriação no cenário sino-brasileiro: o caso da Weg S.A. na China

This article aims to analyze the process of internationalization and expatriation of WEG Electrical Equipment S.A in China. The recent movement of internationalization of Brazilian companies is characterized by cases of multinationals such as WEG, which performs Foreign Direct Investments in search for increasing their participation in international business and gain of competitive advantage. This study has a descriptive character and qualitative nature, using the case study as research method, in which the objects of observation were the processes of internationalization and expatriation of WEG in China. First, secondary data was used aiming to characterize the decision of entry mode in China and their process of internationalization. Later, a semi-structured interview was held, whose questions attempted to understand how the process of expatriation of employees of WEG in the Chinese mission happened. The results show the challenges faced by the company with their inclusion in the Asian market, the determining aspects of the expatriation process and its relation to theoretical models. It is expected that this work contribute to generate knowledge about the internationalization of Brazilian companies and the leading of their expatriations, since those themes demand for conclusive research for clarification of the theoretical models on the Brazilian reality.

Focusing illusion in satisfaction with life among college students living in Brazil

La literatura apunta que existen asociaciones significativas entre la felicidad y la salud. Varios paises estan considerando, contemplando o hasta formalmente incorporando la variable de felicidad en sus politicas de salud publica. Ademas, la iniciativa privada ha demostrado interes por el tema. A partir de eso, este articulo analiza errores de juzgamiento en la percepcion de satisfaccion con la vida entre estudiantes universitarios en dos ciudades brasilenas. El estudio explora las asociaciones entre los aspectos de la vida y la percepcion de felicidad, ya que politicas publicas asociadas a la felicidad requieren una mejor comprension de la subjetividad del sentimiento de bienestar. Un survey realizado con 368 estudiantes universitarios posibilito el analisis por medio del Analisis Multivariado de Covariancia (MANCOVA) y regresion lineal. Los resultados sugieren que, aunque no hayan sido encontradas diferencias significativas en terminos de satisfaccion general con la vida entre las dos ciudades consideradas, hubo indicios de ilusion de enfoque en la percepcion de la felicidad, causada por expectativas provenientes del sentimiento de inseguridad personal en una metropolis.Literature shows that there are significant associations between health and happiness. Various countries are considering, contemplating or formally incorporating the happiness variable into their public health policies. Moreover, the private sector has shown interest in the topic. Based on that This article examines the biases in the perception of satisfaction with life among young adults in two Brazilian cities. The study explores the associations between aspects of life and perception of happiness because public policies associated with happiness require an improved understanding of the subjectivity of the sense of well-being. A survey conducted among 368 college students enabled analysis through Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) and linear regression. The results suggest that, although there were no significant differences in general satisfaction with life between the two cities, there were indications of focusing illusion in the perception of happiness caused by expectations arising from the feeling of personal insecurity in a metropolis.

Aprendizado em redes e processo de inovação dentro de uma empresa: o caso mextra

This paper analyzes how a Brazilian company can consolidate and expand its exports through the technological innovation derived of inter-organizational networks for innovation. The article provides a descriptive case-study of a medium size Brazilian company in the metals industry, which is significantly increasing its exports and revenues due to technological innovation. The article begins with a conceptual review of innovation networks and the structure of organizational relationships. The paper stresses how the companys marketing success abroad was enabled by the setting up of an innovation network in its business model, by means of creating a cluster of synergetic companies The research has also revealed that the process for structuring the firms R&D department occurred because of the incorporation of external resources and competence.

RELAÇÃO ENTRE ESTILO GERENCIAL E CAPACIDADE ORGANIZACIONAL PARA MUDANÇA: PERSPECTIVAS E DESAFIOS DE UMA EMPRESA DO SETOR DE IMPLEMENTOS RODOVIÁRIOS

O estudo busca investigar a relacao entre o estilo gerencial e os fatores que facilitam ou dificultam a mudanca organizacional. Para tanto, a pesquisa tem carater descritivo, quantitativo, utilizando como delineamento de pesquisa um estudo de caso. A amostra foi composta por 307 colaboradores de uma empresa que vivenciou/esta vivenciando processos de mudanca. Os resultados demonstraram que, segundo a percepcao dos colaboradores, a maioria dos gerentes possui estilo gerencial orientado para a tarefa e, de modo geral, a empresa possui baixa capacidade para efetuar mudancas. Por fim, os resultados das correlacoes permitem inferir que os estilos gerenciais relacionam-se com os mesmos construtos dos fatores que compoem a capacidade organizacional para mudanca. Ou seja, independentemente do foco de atuacao do gerente ser orientado as tarefas e resultados, voltado para as relacoes interpessoais ou se adequar conforme o contexto da situacao, a influencia sobre a capacidade para mudar e a mesma.

Atitude frente à mudança organizacional: estudo em uma instituição educacional vinculada a universidade federal de Santa Maria – RS

Recurrent changes and adaptations in today’s world raise the need for organizations to also take action to remain competitive and secure positions in the marketplace. In this context, the study aims to verify how the employees’ attitudes towards the change process in the management of an educational institution linked to the Federal University of Santa Maria are expressed. This is a quantitative research through a case study of a descriptive nature with the collaborators. The research instrument is composed of Likert-type interval-scale questions and contains the factors of acceptance, skepticism, and fear of organizational change. The results provided by the study report that the employees of the institution express positive behaviors regarding the change of management, since the highest averages were in the acceptance factor.

MODELAGEM PARA AVALIAÇÃO DE FORNECEDORES DA INDÚSTRIA LATICINISTA

A industria de alimentos e uma das mais tradicionais estruturas produtivas atuantes no Brasil, representou em 2009 quase 10% do PIB e 20% das exportacoes totais nacionais. Em 2009, o setor de laticinios estava entre os quatro principais setores desta industria e, chegou a alcancar em 2001 a segunda posicao no setor, quando atingiu quase 10% do faturamento total da industria de alimentos. O estudo propoe uma modelagem para avaliacao de desempenho dos fornecedores deste setor, os quais tem impacto direto na sua producao. A aplicacao ocorreu em uma das maiores industrias de processamento de leite da America Latina, por meio de uma pesquisa-acao, e, posteriormente, de uma analise multicriterio, com foco no atendimento aos requisitos de normas internacionais de padronizacao. A modelagem mostrou-se adequada e satisfatoria. Os resultados obtidos puderam ser utilizados como base a tomada de decisao.

Why the Microfinance Institutions exist: Lending groups as a mechanism to enhance informational symmetry and enforcement activities

In this paper, we focus on the economic motivation for the existence of microfinance institutions (MFIs). In doing so, our study contributes to the debate regarding why MFIs exist and, especially, what mechanisms are used to address the risks associated with their operation. In examining the reasons why some individuals are regarded as “non-bankable”, we lay out the basic economic logic that motivates the exclusion of this population from formal credit markets. Next, we show how the lending group methodology overcomes the credit dilemma which sustains and increases the exclusion of the poorest from these formal credit sources. Through this development, we point to the microfinance founding mechanisms: the increase of both the informational symmetry and the enforcement capacity of MFIs through the enhancement of their screening, monitoring and enforcement activities. We also highlight the importance of context and gender for the success of lending groups. Finally, we analyze these mechanisms in the Brazilian context.

ANÁLISE DA MUDANÇA ORGANIZACIONAL A PARTIR DA REGIONALIZAÇÃO NA COOPERATIVA UNICRED CENTRO-OESTE

The constant changes in the business world require organizations a rapid movement to organizational change, seeking greater efficiency in processes and better results. The study of organizational change is then a tool for improving business in the midle of this scenario including the need for constant adaptation to the environment in which they operate. So, the present study aimed to describe the process of organizational change triggered by regionalization of three cooperatives for the formation of the Cooperativa de Credito Unicred Centro-Oeste, analyzing the changes in the organizational structure, in leadership and internal processes. Therefore, we carried out a descriptive and qualitative research through a case study. The results pointed out the reasons that led the change, the changes occurred in the leadership, internal processes were computerized and organizational structure incorporating the three individual cooperatives. The results of the change were evaluated as very positive by managers.

Abordagem biopsicossocial e Síndrome de Burnout: em busca da associação dos constructos

Under the context of rationality, the way work is organized can trigger incompatibilities between the spheres of the motivations, achievements and wishes of individuals, taking it well, the loss of the sense and following injuries in the physical and mental health worker (DEJOURS, 2006). Given this context, this study was conducted in order to identify possible relationships between the Biopsychosocial Approach to Quality of Life at Work (QVT) and the Burnout Syndrome. The sample relates to a survey of 575 professionals from public and private organizations in a municipality in Region / BR. Data were analyzed using analysis: descriptive analysis and correlation factor. The main results shows that professionals dissatisfied with the QWL programs are more prone in the development of burnout syndrome.

Mudança organizacional: uma análise a partir da teoria das tipologias estratégicas

Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar o processo de mudanca organizacional em uma industria de medio porte, por meio da percepcao de atores envolvidos com o processo, a luz da teoria das tipologias – defensor, prospector, analyzer e reactor – de estrategia, estrutura e processo de Miles et al. (1978). A revisao de literatura apoiou-se nas perspectivas teoricas do processo de mudanca organizacional, descrevendo os facilitadores e dificultadores deste fenomeno, e nas tipologias estrategicas, baseando-se no modelo proposto por Miles et al. (1978). Este estudo classifica-se como exploratorio, com emprego de abordagem metodologica qualitativa. Para coleta de dados, realizou-se oito entrevistas semiestruturadas com colaboradores que perpassaram pelo processo de mudanca organizacional na referida industria. A analise de dados foi realizada com a utilizacao da tecnica de analise de conteudo. Os resultados demostraram um alinhamento estrategico entre a proposta da nova gestao, o comportamento dos lideres e as expectativas dos colaboradores. Ainda, verificou-se uma migracao de tipologia estrategica, durante o fenomeno da mudanca organizacional. Sendo que, em uma fase inicial percebeu-se um predominio da estrategia reactor e em uma fase final, a tipologia predominante foi a analyzer.
