Enantioselective Epoxidation of α,β-Unsaturated Ketones by Phase-Transfer Catalysis Using Chiral Quaternary Ammonium Salts

Abstract The catalytic enantioselective epoxidation promoted by quaternary ammonium salt as a phase transfer catalyst is described. Treatment chalcone derivatives with sodium hypochlorite under mild reaction conditions afforded the corresponding epoxy ketones in good yields with good to moderate enantiomeric excesses.

Abstract Reaction of phosphite with silyl enol ethers using iodosobenzene/boron trifluoride etherate provides a direct route for the preparation of 2-aryl-2-oxoalkylphosphonates in good yields.

Asymmetric Synthesis of Aziridinyl Phosphonates Using Darzens-Type Reaction of Chloromethyl Phosphonate to Chiral Sulfinimines

Abstract Darzens-type reaction of chloromethyl phosphonate with (S)-(+)-N-sulfinimines gave (Ss, 2S, 3R)-diethyl 3-aryl-2-N-(p-toluenesulfinyl)aziridinyl-phosphonate (3) in good yields.
