Felicidade, bem-estar subjetivo e comportamento acadêmico de estudantes universitários

This study had the purpose of determining rates of happiness and well-being, and their connection to academic behavior, in a sample of 252 university students, attending the last years of several courses and different College Institutions. The subjects were asked to answer an inventory composed by questions on biographical data and by scales concerning feelings such as happiness, satisfaction and subjective well-being, thus evaluating different aspects of their lives, their university, and their academic behavior. The results showed that the students interviewed evaluate their satisfaction, well-being and happiness in a very positive way. In general, they are satisfied with the university in which they study and their academic achievement; although they wonder if the education received at university will really guarantee their professional success. Liderança situacional: estrutura de referência para o trabalho do enfermeiro-líder no contexto hospitalar

Na literatura, estudiosos da tematica lideranca desenvolveram modelos que podem ser aplicados no contexto organizacional. Na presente investigacao selecionamos o modelo proposto por Hersey e Blanchard denominado Lideranca Situacional. Atraves da tecnica dos incidentes criticos identificamos e analisamos os comportamentos dos enfermeiros de unidade de internacao cirurgica, segundo relato do pessoal auxiliar. Baseadas na analise dos dados podemos inferir que a Lideranca Situacional pode ser utilizada como estrutura teorica para fundamentar a habilidade de liderar do enfermeiro com vistas ao aprimoramento da qualidade da assistencia de enfermagem e do desenvolvimento do potencial do pessoal de enfermagem.

Cultura organizacional e avaliação de instituições de educação superior: semelhanças e diferenças

Considering eight dimensions of the organizational culture already identified in previous studies in organizations – power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity, assertiveness, achievement orientation, future orientation, affiliative orientation – this study found levels of presence and variability of these factors in 14 higher education institutions – HEI (public universities, private university, university centers, and colleges). The data were collect from 490 university professors, using a group of Likert scales to measure the eight factors of the organizational culture, the evaluation of the qualities of the HEI and the feelings related to belong to them. The results showed statistically significant differences between and within the different kinds of HEI; negative and significant correlations between the evaluations and the factors power distance, individualism and masculinity; and positive correlations between the evaluations and uncertainty avoidance, assertiveness, future orientation, achievement orientation and affiliative orientation.

Perfil motivacional do enfermeiro atuante em um hospital geral do interior paulista

Esta investigacao teve como objetivo geral identificar o perfil motivacional de um grupo de enfermeiros atuantes em um hospital geral universitario, bem como mapear as motivacoes que conduzem os enfermeiros no trabalho e correlacionar as atitudes e crencas verificadas nas respostas dos sujeitos em relacao ao trabalho e suas motivacoes. Os dados foram coletados atraves de tres instrumentos sendo duas escalas tipo Likert (MOSE e ACTRA) e um questionario para caracterizacao pessoal e profissional da amostra composta por 184 sujeitos. O perfil motivacional encontrado a partir das tres motivacoes sociais permitiu avaliar que a maioria dos enfermeiros estudados caminha para a superacao do subdesenvolvimento.

Adaptação e validação da Escala de Liderança Carismática Socializada

OBJECTIVE: Adapting the Charismatic Leadership Socialized Scale for the Brazilian culture and evaluating the psychometric properties of the translated and adapted version. METHODS: The translated and adapted version of the scale was answered by 211 nursing staff professionals. The SPSS program was used to verify the principal components, the loading factors of each item on the subscales by the Principal Component Analysis and the Varimax rotation test, and the internal consistency of subscales by calculating Cronbachs alpha index. The means of groups on each scale were compared by the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), verifying the significance of differences with Tukeys test. RESULTS: The scale showed consistent psychometric properties converging to a stable factor structure and a suitable reliability that was very close to the original study. CONCLUSION: The results support the psychometric properties of the scale, indicating its applicability for research in hospital settings nationwide.

Competência percebida e atribuição de causalidade em jogadores juniores de futebol

RESUMO - O modelo motivacional da atribuicao de causalidade preve que sentimentos e expectativas gerados pelo tipo de causa utilizada pelo individuo, para explicar o que acontece com ele mesmo, podem influenciar sua motivacao. Assim, pretendeu-se investigar as causas atribuidas por 111 jogadores juniores de futebol ao proprio nivel de competencia e sua influencia nos sentimentos, expectativas e disposicao para agir. Os resultados indicaram que aqueles que avaliaram ter alto nivel de competencia utilizaram causas mais internas, mais estaveis e igualmente controlaveis, em comparacao aqueles que avaliaram ter um nivel menor de competencia. Isso pode explicar a ausencia de diferencas significativas nas emocoes negativas, expectativas e disposicoes para a acao dos atletas. Palavras-chave: causalidade; competencia; motivacao; futebol. ABSTRACT - The motivational model of causal attribution predicts that emotions and expectations generated by the type of cause utilized by a person, to explain what happens to himself, can influence his motivation. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the causes attributed by 111 junior football players to their competence level and its influence on their emotions, expectations and disposition for the action. The results showed that those who evaluated having a high competence level utilized more internal, more stable and equally controllable causes comparing to those who evaluated having a lower competence level. This may explain the absence of significant differences in negative emotions, expectations, and dispositions for the action of athletes. Keywords: causality; competence; motivation; football.

Educação superior e crescimento pessoal: motivações sociais entre personagens nucleares do meio universitário

Resumo Baseando-se nos resultados de quase duas dezenas de estudos conduzidos com sujeitos brasileiros, todos personagens nucleares relacionados ao meio universitario (professores, candidatos, alunos, egressos), envolvendo variaveis contidas nos modelos de cultura maior (social) e de cultura menor (industrial), propostos por Romero-Garcia para explicar o processo motivacional de individuos vivendo em sociedades em vias de desenvolvimento, este trabalho evidencia a consistencia teorica dos modelos propostos. A analise destes estudos aponta para a importância do nivel de escolaridade e socioeconomico, do ambiente motivacional do lar e do porte da cidade onde vivem os sujeitos para a caracterizacao psicossocial de sua cultura.
