Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to show the implementation of a maintenance management model based on total productive maintenance (TPM) in a production line of a metallurgical company, with high-precision equipment requiring effective maintenance to maintain the quality of the production process. Design/methodology/approach – Has been proposed a model for conducting the activities, emphasizing the training activities of the teams involved in the implementation, collection and analysis of industrial performance indicators from a year before the implementation of TPM. The development followed the timetable of activities and the results of these performance indicators were collected again after the application of the model. Findings – It observed that after the implementation of TPM, and the results of these performance indicators were collected again after the application of the model. Thus, it is concluded that the TPM assists in improving industrial performance and competitiveness of the productio...

Abstract The present article proposes a mathematical decision support system model to measure the performance of incubated technology-based firms (TBFs) suppliers. The research was conducted based on three steps: (1) a literature review, in order to parameterise the research in relation to the theme; (2) the construction of a measuring system, based on the presumptions permeated by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP); and (3) the application of the system at three companies. The findings demonstrated the mathematical modelling developed is capable of providing satisfactory results to the reality of the sector studied, presenting the situation of the suppliers evaluated, independent of the nature of the indicated critical success factors (CSFs). Also, this tool supports companies by providing a strong foundation to organise the information regarding the service level delivered by each supplier, according to previous research on the theme.

In recent years the photovoltaic power generation has been consolidated in the world as one of the most promising forms of renewable energy generation. Due to its vast land area and tropical location, Brazil is positioned as one of the countries with the greatest potential for deployment of photovoltaic systems. Besides the favorable physical environment, investments in innovation can generate several benefits for an organization; however, its continuation will depend on a set of assets, such as research and development, introduction of new technologies and training of their team. Thus, this paper presents an instrument proposed for measuring the organizational level of innovation in distributed photovoltaic generation. The instrument features 30 performance indicators grouped into 10 critical success factors fragmented into four points fundamentas view. The construction of the instrument was based on a survey on organizational innovation and photovoltaics. With the implementation of this instrument is intended to generate a current diagnosis of the situation of the evaluated organizations, and support decisions of innovation managers in energy efficiency for the development of solar power generation system in Brazil.

EnglishThe dynamism of the modern world has forced companies to develop many tools and techniques to assist in the administration. In this sense, the present work aims to show the development of a model capable of revealing the costs expended to manufacture on a coil cold storage sector, through the application of the Unit of Production Method, in conjunction with concepts about multi-criteria methods. In order to verify the behavior in practice, we sought to apply the model in a company located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil between the period from March to August 2012, visualizing in the end that Sidecut is the most expensive (CQ6b=R
