Innovativeness measures: a bibliometric review and a classification proposal

Purpose Innovation has been widely studied in business and economics, but different innovation and innovativeness measures have been used by scholars. Within this context, this research aims to identify the main innovation and innovativeness measures used by high-impact or recent papers within the past 10 years. Design/methodology/approach Regarding methodology, the bibliometric process Proknow-C was used, selecting 26 papers from a sample exceeding 2,000 articles in the Web of Science database. Findings Based on the literature review, these articles’ innovativeness measures were classified in terms of inputs, capabilities and outputs. In summary, the articles of the bibliometric portfolio used diverse innovativeness measures comprising inputs (R&D investments, R&D staff qualification, patents, etc.), capabilities and processes (culture, leadership, knowledge, strategy, etc). and outputs (number of innovations, percentage of revenues of innovative products, etc.). Furthermore, a new innovativeness classification was proposed with eight types of organizations considering the presence of inputs, capabilities and outputs. Research limitations/implications Although Proknow-C is an established bibliometric process, it naturally has some limitations to select a bibliometric portfolio of approximately 20 articles from a sample exceeding 2,000 articles. The major limitations involve the filters used, such as aligned titles, number of citations in Google Scholar, Pareto principle, aligned abstracts and full text availability. Originality/value This research contributes to theory, as it covers high-impact and recent papers concerning innovativeness, specifically by analysing the main measures used and by gathering recommended future research directions, beyond proposing an innovativeness classification. It also contributes to practice, as it gathers diverse innovation measures, which could be used by managers in their organizations.

ANÁLISIS DE LA EFICIENCIA DE LO SERVICIO DEL SISTEMA ÚNICO DE SALUD EN LOS MUNICIPIOS PARANAENSES

According to the facts, the Brazilian public health has intriguing challenges to the management of resources destined to Brazilian public health, it´s one of the most crisis of history, which comes from main factors: increased demand and lack of effectiveness and management. In this scenario, this research aims analyze the level of effectiveness of the Brazilian Unified Health System Service (SUS) in the Parana municipalities (Brazil) in 2015. The study comprises 244 Parana municipalities. The techniques used to measure efficiency were Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Free Disposal Hull (FDH). The use of two techniques of analysis can be better assist in the planning and in the management decisions for the allocation of resources. The results indicate that there are significant differences in the level of efficiency of Parana municipalities, by both techniques

Relationship and performance: sociometric and bibliometric study of the scientific production of the graduate program in accounting at Unisinos

The relationship between the ability to relate social actors and their performance has achieved great attention recently, indicating the need for respect among various stakeholders and their environments. Accordingly, following Torres et al. (2013), this article analyzes the scientific publications of the researchers at the Graduate Program in Accounting at Vale do Rio dos Sinos University (Unisinos) from 2007 to 2012 based on their relational perspectives and performance. Based on an analysis of curriculum lattes of those surveyed, and through sociometric methods, bibliometrics, social network analysis, and other statistical approaches, the program was identified and studied. The program has 13 researchers who presented 605 scientific publications distributed among the Annals of Congress and periodicals. These publications represent a score of 1.620 in the first three years (2007-2009) and 3.260 in the second (2010-2012), and were analyzed individually (perresearcher) with indicators of the centrality of networks. A descriptive analysis was based on the performance points of the researchers and their relational perspectives, noting, as a final consideration, a predominant direct and persistent association between indicators of relationship researchers and their performance in points (Qualis score).

Análise de Desempenho das Ações das Empresas do Setor da Construção Civil na Bovespa em Relação à Rentabilidade, Estrutura de Capital e Conjuntura Setorial

EnglishThe study of the relationship between accounting information and the stock market has become relevant in the assessment of risk and return of publicly traded companies. In this sense, this article aims at verifying whether the profitability and the capital structure influence the share price of construction listed on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA). Furthermore, it was investigated the influence of the main economic indicators of the sector in the stock price. The research is descriptive, multivariate quantitative analysis with the use of the technique of multiple linear regression data being used. The sample period extends from the first quarter 2008 to first quarter 2013. The results show that stock prices of some companies are influenced by selected variables, considering that for some companies, cyclical variables have greater weight the the variables of profitability and capital structure. portuguesO estudo da relacao entre as informacoes contabeis e o mercado de acoes tem se tornado relevante na avaliacao de risco e retorno das empresas de capital aberto. Nesse sentido, o presente artigo tem como objetivo verificar se a rentabilidade e a estrutura de capital influenciam no preco das acoes das construtoras listadas na Bolsa de Valores de Sao Paulo (BOVESPA). Alem disso, foi verificada a influencia dos principais indicadores economicos do setor no preco das acoes. A pesquisa tem carater descritivo. Foi utilizada a analise multivariada de dados quantitativos com o emprego da tecnica de regressao linear multipla. O periodo analisado se estende do primeiro trimestre de 2008 ao primeiro trimestre de 2013. Os resultados demonstram que os precos das acoes das empresas sao influenciados pelas variaveis selecionadas, considerando que para algumas empresas as variaveis conjunturais tem maior peso do que as variaveis de rentabilidade e estrutura de capital.

DETERMINANDO A TAXA LIVRE DE RISCO PARA A APLICAÇÃO DO CAPM NO MERCADO BRASILEIRO

A adaptacao do CAPM ao mercado brasileiro tem sido tema de diversos estudos academicos. Um dos aspectos relacionados ao tema refere-se a parametrizacao da taxa livre de risco (Rf), comumente oscilando na literatura entre a remuneracao da poupanca, a taxa Selic e o juro dos treasury bonds norte-americanos. O presente artigo buscou estabelecer qual destas variaveis e a mais adequada para o conceito de taxa livre de risco do CAPM no Brasil. Baseando-se no fenomeno do flight to quality, comparou-se o comportamento do Ibovespa com o comportamento destes constructos durante a ultima crise financeira. A conclusao e que, ainda que todos tenham apresentado correlacoes significativas com o Ibovespa no periodo, o maior poder explicativo para o desempenho da bolsa deveu-se ao comportamento dos treasury bonds , sendo ele o ativo recomendado para o conceito de taxa livre de risco no Brasil.

Análise de cointegração e geração de cenários na alocação de investimentos em previdência complementar

The objective of this work is to present for an investment portfolio allocation taking into consideration long-term relations between financial assets and economy indexes. The observed data are from a time series of economic indicators, as well the financial market, encompassing the period of the Real Plan establishment. The gathered results assist in the understanding of decision structures from a Closed Pension Fund, generating information on the relations of long-term period from variables which can be used as parameters for probabilistic scenarios. All things considered, several tactics of investments are evaluated in terms of their performance throughout a 40-year projection. The validation of results is carried through by means of a statistical package S-Plus, allowing a deeper analysis over the strategy adopted, regarding the need of risks management, specifically those associated with the maintenance of the pension fund solvency.

CONSTRUÇÃO DE INDICADORES DE MENSURAÇÃO DO CAPITAL INTELECTUAL EM UMA EMPRESA BRASILEIRA DE CONSÓRCIOS.

O presente estudo tem por objetivo construir indicadores que possam refletir o esforco organizacional para o atingimento das metas estabelecidas e que potencializem o valor do conhecimento como recurso singular dentro da organizacao, por meio de um estudo de caso em uma empresa brasileira de consorcios, sendo identificadas as principais diretrizes estrategicas para a construcao de indicadores que mensurem a implementacao estrategica, sob o aspecto da mensuracao de seu capital intelectual.

REDES SOCIAIS: UM ESTUDO DE CASO NO SETOR METAL MECÂNICO EM SÃO JOSÉ DOS PINHAIS – PR.

A globalizacao vem incentivando a necessidade de aumentar a competitividade, fazendo com que o estabelecimento de parcerias torne-se essencial. Um dos temas emergentes nos estudos organizacionais tem sido o conceito de redes organizacionais. Diante da grande concorrencia enfrentada pelas organizacoes atualmente, as redes sao ressaltadas como uma alternativa viavel, representando uma resposta em torno de questoes de competitividade, estrategia empresarial e estruturacao organizacional. A presente pesquisa foi realizada numa rede de fornecedores e clientes do setor metal-mecânico da regiao metropolitana de Curitiba – PR. O estudo objetivou compreender como este setor se relaciona e quais sao seus principais atores, demonstrando sua evolucao temporal no periodo (2008/2009). Como resultado, verificou-se a existencia de um sistema de interacao entre atores do canal de distribuicao do setor metal-mecânico, denominados de fornecedores e clientes, em observância dos principais atores em estrutura relacional na rede.

A PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA BRASILEIRA EM GESTÃO DO CONHECIMENTO: ANÁLISE CIENCIOMÉTRICA E MAPEAMENTO DE REDES DE AUTORES DO ENEGEP, 1998-2008

O estudo da evolucao das pesquisas em Gestao do Conhecimento (GC) e instrumental para a compreensao desse campo emergente e suas contribuicoes teoricas e praticas para a gestao publica e privada no Brasil. Este trabalho investiga a producao cientifica sobre GC, aplicando a abordagem cienciometrica a uma analise dos Anais do Encontro Nacional de Engenharia de Producao (ENEGEP) no periodo de 1998 a 2008. Do total de 6.854 artigos publicados ao longo das onze edicoes, foram identificados 272 trabalhos da area de GC. Utilizou-se a metodologia de analise de redes sociais para avaliar os padroes de relacoes entre autores e co-autores, areas tematicas, instituicoes e localidades. O levantamento identificou 533 autores e um universo de 95 instituicoes de pesquisa vinculadas aos autores com trabalhos em GC. Verificou-se uma alta concentracao de trabalhos por autor e area geografica. Apenas dez autores tiveram quatro ou mais artigos publicados, respondendo por mais de 22% do total de artigos. O mapeamento dos elos relacionais apresenta, por meio de sociogramas, relacoes sob a perspectiva de centralidade por atores e demonstra que os elos entre os autores apresentam uma baixa densidade, revelando que as redes de colaboracao entre os pesquisadores da area sao pouco desenvolvidas.
