Desenho da figura humana: análise da prevalência de indicadores para avaliação emocional

Solange Muglia Wechsler; Camila de Moraes Prado; Karina da Silva Oliveira; Bruna Galvão Mazzarino

An analysis of the emotional indicators in childrens human figure drawings was done in order to investigate variables that could affect their prevalence. The sample consisted of 2,206 human figure drawings made by children (695 girls and 408 boys), aged between 5-12 years old, with no apparent clinical disturbances. Scoring systems by Naglieri, McNeish and Bardos (emotional assessment) and Wechsler (cognitive assessment) were employed. The analysis of variance demonstrated significant effects (p< .01) of childrens sex and age; type of figure drawn; type of school attended; and interaction of sex, age and figure type on emotional as well as on cognitive scores. Emotional scores were negatively related (p< .01) to cognitive scores. Different cut-off scores are proposed to provide an adequate psychodiagnostic assessment.

Creativity Indicators in the Human Figure Drawing Test

Karina da Silva Oliveira; Solange Muglia Wechsler

This study aimed to investigate the reliability and validity of a creativity screening protocol for the Human Figure Drawing Test (HFD). The study was divided in two parts: part one was conducted with 5 judges and part two with 208 children from private and public schools, aged between 9 years and 11 years and 11 months. The first part showed the protocol as accurate, and considered the instrument as appropriate with 75% of agreement by the Pearsons Correlation analysis. In the second part, a creativity screening protocol for the HFD and the Childrens Creativity Figural Test were used as instruments. These instruments were compared using Pearsons correlation and factor analysis. The results suggested that indicators such as Development, Emotion Expression and Motion are related to creativity features in HFD. Influences for the variables: school and sex on the items movement, unusual perspective and contexts were identified. We conclude that the creativity screening protocol for the HFDThis study aimed to investigate the reliability and validity of a creativity screening protocol for the Human Figure Drawing Test (HFD).
