Circo social e práticas educacionais não governamentais

This research tries to analyze the social circus, whose purpose is the social inclusion of youngster from impoverished urban areas through the arts of circus. Specifically, delineating some practices developed by non-governmental educational organizations in the context of neo-liberal public policies. For such an undertaking, the following theoretical references were used: Michel Foucaults genealogy, Nietzsches concept of tragical art, Bakhtins work on comic humor in popular culture and the work of Brazilian researchers regarding the circus. We inquire: how is the alliance between art and philanthropy being established, in particular with the circus, in decrement of the alliance between science and philanthropy? Would art be under the dominion of a new technology?

A expansão dos poderes judiciários

This article aims to comment an unfamiliar article by Foucault, not included in the french edition of Dits et Ecrits. Beyond presenting this publication, which is entitled La redefinition du judiciable (The redefinition of the judiciable), it pretends to bring some considerations about the questions that Foucault suggests, as well as some indications about what is happening with us now-a-days in terms of the judicialization of the everyday life. The text brings an analysis of the roll of justice, of what is turning into or what is the object of judiciary judgment, discussing the elements which characterize the diffusion of the judiciary functions through the whole social body.

By the means of the Philosophy of Difference as a theoretical reference, we seek to place in discussion concepts such as civilization, barbary, rights, human, evolution and progress, among others. Therefore, we historicize the genesis of Human Rights, in the context of the 1948 Declaration, during the Cold War, and, in Brazil, with the emergence of the new social movements after 1975. These historical happenings, besides having their importance, have produced effects of essentialism and naturalism, emptying and capturing, many times, the struggle for Human Rights. When positively affirming the right and humanity as processes, we raise the discussion of an ethics of immanence.

The article questions the current Post-Graduation evaluation criteria, which emphasizes article publications and indexed magazines. It has led to a depreciation of the educator. When not valuing other activities such as teaching, orientation, organization of events, participation in debates, extension works, participation in examining boards etc, and when not considering important the publications towards a larger public, or even book publications, Post-Graduation evaluation tends to define, in a limited way, what is academic productivity.

Este artigo promove um debate sobre as lutas sociais e politicas a partir das pesquisas de Michel Foucault, em uma historia do presente, apontando contribuicoes das analises de arquivos e de ferramentas que nos inquietam pela forca do questionamento que produzem e tambem pela atitude critica e politica que possibilitam, bem como a postura etica que movem nos trabalhos em psicologia social, no Brasil. O legado de Foucault e vasto pela potencia de seus escritos e rupturas provocadas em diferentes areas entre pesquisadores e militantes, em muitos paises, o que diz de suas ressonâncias e da importância de escrever a respeito.

Instituições e poder: racionalidade macropolítica e genealogia

Based upon the criticism presented by Guilhon de Albuquerque in his book Instituicoes e Poder to Irving Goffmanns Asylums - Essays on the social patients and other inmates regarding totalitarian institutions, this work intends: (1) to question Guilhon de Albuquerques theoretical premises and analysis schemes for the conception of institution and totalitarian institution based on macro political rationale; and (2) to contrast this perspective against a different thinking process on the institutions, a genealogical thinking which privileges, among other aspects: the productions (instead of the representations); the constitution process (instead of constituted forms); the irruption (instead of the interruption); and the positivity (instead of the interdiction and need).

O acontecimento Victor de Aveyron: esboço de uma genealogia da psiquiatrização da infância

What is called as “event Victor de Aveyron” opens in the context of the XVIII century practices new questions for knowledge and medical and pedagogical practices, and new issues for this strange object of knowledge: “man”. This text intends to trace an outline of a historical genealogy, which was reported by the task of Jean Marc Itard, in an attempt to educate the wild boy found in the woods of Aveyron, from the perspective of the thought of Michel Foucault. This is the process of constructing the medical and pedagogical alliance and its devices have the capacity to discipline and standardize. In addition, these devices led to the expansion of psychiatry and the process had nointerest in crazy child, but in the idiot child. If the appearance of Victor to the civilization caused the production of knowledge settler about the body resistance to standardization, the pursuit of wild body limit, which was so incapable as the idiot, also led to the foundation of the medical and pedagogical alliance device that can be observed on the bodies of children even considering the differences in goals, technical, institutional practices and in attempts at social inclusion.

Informatização da vida e controle da existência

Pretende-se levantar questoes sobre a expansao das tecnologias da informatica no contemporâneo e alguns de seus efeitos, em especial, no que se refere aos amplos sentidos da educacao. Apontando para a sociedade de controle globalizado e para a “compressao tempo-espaco”, problematiza-se como o processo de tratamento das informacoes, por meio de maquinas eletronicas, produz modos de existencia, vetores de subjetivacao. Na atualidade, tal controle vem se exercendo atraves da proliferacao de sofi sticados bancos de dados, disponiveis em rede em escala planetaria. Sao inegaveis as facilidades trazidas por essas novas tecnologias e a rapidez com que se coletam e processam informacoes. No entanto, e preciso destacar que tais dispositivos nao constroem conhecimento. Tal concepcao vem sendo caracterizada como “democratizacao do acesso a informacao”, tudo muito isento, asseptico, neutro e objetivo. A facilidade com que se trocam informacoes e a instantaneidade dos sistemas de comunicacao instauram em nos tais evidencias naturalizadas. Por isso, mais do que nunca, necessitamos de uma etica afi rmativa que se contraponha, como via de escape, a moral negativa da fi lantropia, ao assistencialismo e a punibilidade tao arraigados em nossas subjetividades contemporâneas.
