Types and lines of nursing research in Brazil, from 1950 to 1980, are described. The majority of studies are on nursing care, followed by nursing education. The Author concludes that probably these studies were an answer to the needs of the country.

Enfoque de risco na assistência de enfermagem comunitária

O risco em saúde é afetado por diversos fatores denominados fatores de risco. Eles são características ou circunstâncias, detectadas em indivíduos, grupos ou comunidade, que tornam estes sujeitos à probabilidade anormal de ter, desenvolver ou ser especialmente afetado, de forma grave, por um processo mórbido. Essas características ou circunstâncias podem estar isoladas ou associadas. Em todas as sociedades existem indivíduos, grupos ou comunidades cuja probabilidade futura de agravo do seu estado de saúde-doença é maior que a dos outros. Esses indivíduos, grupos ou comunidades são denominados vulneráveis ou de risco3» s > 1 3 .

A enfermeira atende no metrô de São Paulo: relato de uma experiência

This paper reports an experience carried out by nurses during the 44 th. WEEK ON NURSING in the Suboways of Sao Paulo Municipality in 1983. The general purpose was tonake population and authorities acquainted with the nurses potencial of work regarding the primary health care. The specific goals were the proposition and experimentation of a nursing assistance model which could show the performance of the nurses traditional functions, though with a greater degree of autonomy. The model was evaluated in terms of the average length of the activities provided, the kind and number of health problems and others found along the population, and the view point of the nurses who partook the experience as well as the opinion of the population attended.
