The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 8 direction incline and rotation exercise on pain and dynamic balance in the patients with chronic low back pain(CLBP). 20 patients who were diagnosed with CLBP were included for the study. 10 patients(experimental group) were treated by modality{Hot Pack(H/P), Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation(TENS), Ultra Sound(U/S)} and then performed 8 direction incline and rotation exercise. The other 10 patients(control group) were only treated by modality. The therapeutic intervention was taken three times a week for 6 weeks. Dynamic balance was assessed by Star Excursion Balance Test(SEBT) and pain was assessed by Visual Analog Scale(VAS). VAS scores of both groups were decreased. However, the experimental group was more significantly decreased than the control group. The dynamic balance of both groups was significantly increased in anterior, posterior, medial, lateral direction. But experimental group was more significantly increased than the control group. In conclusion, 8 direction incline and rotation exercise was effective on pain and dynamic balance in CLPB.

Effects of Taping Therapy by Methods on Back Pain and Muscle Flexibility of Bus Drivers's

Min-Chull Park; Eun-Young Kim; Mi-Sook Ha

Abstract The purpose of this study was to compared the effectiveness of erector spine taping and lumbar taping maintained in bus drivers back pain. The research subjects were some bus drivers working in Changwon, Masan, and Busan terminal. And we concluded this research; By selecting a group of 15 people taping erector spine, a group of lumbar taping, and a control group of 15 people randomly. Because we measured them before treatment and two weeks after treatment by the time, we could get the results which were as follows. The experiment group applied of taping therapy would be reduced in back pain when compared to the control group. The experiment group applied of taping therapy would be improved in muscle flexibility when compared to the control group. After treatment, the experiment group compared to control group showed decrease pain and an increase of flexibility. In conclusion, we could know that taping reduces back pain of bus drivers and gives a positive impact to muscle flexibility improvement, we finded out a distinct difference between the erector spine taping and the lumbar taping. Thus, the taping treatment can be applied easily to the bus driver and used as a way of therapeutic approach.

Jeong-Uk Kim; Min-Chull Park; Sung-Min Choi; Sang-Yeol Lee; Hyeon-Jin Won

This study aims to examine the influences of wearing an occlusal biteplane splint on balance of the body. 10 subjects were selected who had neither impaired occlusion and masticating systems nor difficulty in walking along with no medical history in temporomandibular joint. Measurements were conducted with the Fukuda stepping test, the limits of stability test. The level of significance, to determine the statistical significance was .05. Fukuda stepping test and the limits of stability test were put to the Wilcoxon signed test. As a result of this study, there was a significant difference in the moving distance in the Fukuda stepping test (p
