A abordagem qualitativa nas ciências administrativas: aspectos históricos, tipologias e perspectivas futuras

As abordagens qualitativas de pesquisa tem o cerne de sua formacao nas ciencias sociais e humanas e sua atual aplicacao em diversas areas do conhecimento, incluindo as ciencias administrativas. Sua historia de desenvolvimento e constantemente marcada, de um lado, por questionamentos, criticas e adversidades paradigmaticas e, de outro, por ganhar legitimidade e forca advindas daqueles que fazem bom uso dos seus metodos e tecnicas. Este breve ensaio teorico tem por objetivo geral expor, a partir de seus aspectos historicos e principais caracteristicas, o sentido da abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa, suas tipologias, aspectos que caracterizam uma possivel dicotomia entre essa e a abordagem quantitativa, elucidando alguns beneficios da complementaridade e triangulacao, bem como algumas dificuldades em realiza-las, sua aplicabilidade aos estudos organizacionais e algumas perspectivas futuras. Almeja-se que as contribuicoes deste trabalho sejam refletidas na promocao e impulsao de seus metodos e de suas tecnicas, notadamente as inovacoes metodologicas a que estao diante toda a comunidade cientifica de modo geral. Como principais consideracoes tem-se a continuidade do debate aqui proposto e o fortalecimento das metodologias qualitativas, neste campo do conhecimento, a medida que sao aperfeicoados na pratica diaria de pesquisadores.

O triênio 2010-2012 e a nova avaliação de periódicos da Capes

To study the advances in the Brazilian scientific production and the consequent implications for the academic community, especially as regard to aspects relating to the evaluations of the graduate programs in Business Administration – PPGAs held every three years by CAPES, which classify and punctuate the publications of scientific journals of the permanent professors of the programs can assist the formation and development of new researchers as well as consolidate groups or individuals already experienced in research. In this sense, the aim of this study is to investigate whether the new classification of academic journals in the Qualis-CAPES system, with reference to the previous classification, benefited or not, the centers of diffusion of research in administration located in the southeastern states, when compared to programs in the Northeast. The methodological approach used is descriptive and quantitative and the data collection occurred in the months of April and May 2013. As main results, considering the two classifications, it is evidenced that there was no drop in score of the northeasterners teachers of PPGAs, nor significant variations in the quantitative punctuation of the teachers of PPGAs located in southeastern Brazil.

Contributions and Limits to the Use of Softwares to Support Content Analysis

The use of software to support qualitative analysis has been growing since the 1980s when the first software began to be developed through collaborative research by researchers. There are still recurrent discussions about the contributions and limits of the use of these resources in qualitative analyzes. Considering this perspective, this work aims to analyze the contributions and limitations of the use of content analysis software, in order to support the researcher in his decision making when opting for the use of software resources. Several contributions are identified, such as the possibility of treatment and retrieval of a large volume of qualitative data, allowing a greater time of interpretative analysis to the researcher. As a more frequent limitation, we present the absence of contextual analysis of the units of study: words. Thus, the active role of the researcher remains indispensable in view of the fact that the software proposes a support for the mechanical activity of content analysis, but the creation of valid scientific knowledge requires the rationality of the researcher from the interpretation of the data against pertinent theorization.

Observational study on weberian ethics in the film Sophie’s Choice

When ethical dilemmas of responsibility and conviction seem to involve any human fabric of the real world, Sophie’s Choice (1982) is guided by an ethic of responsibility of one end would justify the means and she did not have the option to dodge out. Through an observational study of qualitative approach we aim to situate the dilemma suffered by the protagonist of the film within ethical parameters defined by Max Weber when he explains the ethics of responsibility and the conviction ethic. The contributions of this study go beyond the fictional and cinematic limits of Sophie’s Choice to a time depicting ethical dilemmas that may be suffered by people in the real world and (unwanted) choices reflecting further consequences beyond the end of justifications and axiological assumptions. Thus many other hodiernal historical contexts are diverse, that even in different political, cultural, economic and social conditions, people find themselves forced to make choices that are not intended. This widens the scope of the film and brings the contemporary debate that remains current.

THE MULTIPLICITY OF FACETS OF CONTEMPORARY FEMININITY IN HIGH FASHION BLOGS

Objetivo: Analisar a constituicao das feminilidades contemporâneas por meio da investigacao em profundidade do modo como um grupo de leitoras assiduas de blogs de alta moda produz sentidos sobre si e sobre as relacoes sociais a que estao envolvidas. Originalidade/lacuna/relevância/implicacoes: O estudo avanca na compreensao de como os relacionamentos sociais se constituem em compleicoes complexas e os blogs, ferramentas de publicacao virtual do conteudo das atividades diarias de seus idealizadores, em novos espacos influenciadores na construcao da subjetividade de individuos ou mesmo entendendo-os como formas contemporâneas de organizacao. Principais aspectos metodologicos: O estudo qualitativo com dados coletados a partir de tecnicas de observacao em ambiente virtual e entrevistas semiestruturadas. Sintese dos principais resultados: O blog de alta moda como uma organizacao empresarial, com um perfil de leitoras apresentando interesses e caracteristicas comuns, alem de a feminilidade emergir como um complexo multifacetado de caracteristicas proximas e distantes dos antigos papeis publicos desempenhados pela mulher. Principais consideracoes/conclusoes: Conjectura-se a concepcao do blog como um locus digital onde sao possiveis interacoes sociais e relacoes mercadologicas. O trabalho tambem permitiu trazer o debate das abordagens feministas pos-modernas para o campo dos estudos organizacionais, reafirmando o carater intermitente da constituicao subjetiva do genero feminino na perspectiva emancipatoria contemporânea.

Abordagem grassroots e resistência: atualizando a concepção de desenvolvimento sustentável

A critical body of literature has emerged focusing on the spectrum of resistance against impositions engendered by the modus operandum of western capitalism, including the nuances of the productive patterns considering the environment as a device attached to the triple bottom line of the traditional view of sustainable development. Regarding the theory, solidarity economy (economic pillar), social movements (social pillar), political ecology (environmental pillar), and cultural roots (cultural pillar) are important apparatus that cannot be left behind if an alternative concept of sustainable development is to be structured. This article considers such apparatus as having elements of resistance, since they have different characteristics when compared to the standard features of the pillars that form the base of the criticized conception of sustainable development. Therefore, the main goal of this article is to conceive alternative elements to the standard concept of sustainable development, considering aspects of the grassroots approach. This study is relevant as it offers alternative and complementary elements in order to provide an understanding of the updated conjectures. The prospects of grassroots development, involving less developed communities worldwide, are being used as practical guidelines in local development actions. They have rarely been conjectured as conceptual elements to offer a new format for the conception of sustainable development. This article concludes that the traditional version of sustainable development can be upgraded with the alternative elements emerging from the grassroots approach.

Valoração econômica de projetos de requalificação urbana: uma aplicação dos métodos de avaliação contingente e preços hedônicos

O uso de recursos naturais com finalidades economicas torna-se um problema ambiental a medida que sua escassez e evidenciada e a sociedade nao percebe o seu valor em vistas ao seu uso ou preservacao. A valoracao economica de ativos ambientais e uma ferramenta decisiva neste processo, pois auxilia a apreensao de valores de mercado para estes recursos naturais. Neste trabalho, de abordagem quantitativa, utilizando-se de metodos de avaliacao contingente e de precos hedonicos, busca-se avaliar do ponto de vista economico, ambiental e social do projeto de urbanizacao da comunidade de Belem em Fortaleza – Ceara. Para tanto, faz-se uso das tecnicas de disposicoes a pagar dos individuos do entorno em relacao aos beneficios percebidos e acrescimos nos valores das residencias. Como principais resultados apresenta-se que, apesar da viabilidade economica desse projeto de requalificacao urbana por meio da aplicacao da avaliacao contingente e da utilizacao do metodo dos precos hedonicos ter se confirmado, ficou evidente o comprometimento das despesas totais em relacao a renda das familias pesquisadas em sua capacidade de pagamento, principalmente, as de menor poder aquisitivo.
