Transforming SMEs into e-business is one of efforts to improve the competitiveness of SMEs. However, the initiatives of e-business can not be separated from the companys business strategy. This means that the transformation of SMEs towards e-business follows the companys business strategy. However, SMEs often do not clearly define their business strategy, and this strategy is seen as the companys commitment to customer demand. For manufacturing companies, manufacturing systems literature calls this commitment as competitive priorities which is a part of the manufacturing strategy and reflects the business strategy. This study describes the alignment between e-business initiatives with the competitive priorities. This study uses business process approach to find e-business initiatives. Business processes that are supported electronically by SMEs become the pivot domain for the alignment process. This study shows four types of e-business initiatives that are identified from empirical studies and explains the relationship between each initiative with competitive priorities to be fulfilled by B-to-B manufacturing SMEs.

This paper presents the development of a model of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) with heterogenous vehicle fleet size and mix vehicle routing (HFSMVR). The solution is built using a heuristic approach, namely sequential insertion and 1-0 relocation improvement. The model considers aspects of multiple trips, multiple products and compartments, split delivery, and multiple time windows. The model is applied to solve the problem of fuel oil distribution in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Based on the model of VRP HFSMVR, tankers with capacity of 2.000 kilolitres and 4,700 kilolitres are the solution for the distribution problem that gives minimum of tour quantity, total time of completion, and range of completion time. The results of this study shows that in the case of heterogenous fleet size, selected tankers were varied and not necessarily the ones with largest capacity.

The number of Indonesian SMEs and Indonesian Internet users are increasing. This situation is of concern to the Indonesian government. The government then launched a SME go online program with a target of 8 million SMEs using the online platform in 2019. One of the online platforms that SMEs may use in Indonesia is the online marketplace such as Tokopedia, Bukalapak and others. Previous research studied the factors that support or hinder the adoption of e-commerce in SMEs environment but had not explored how the interaction of those factors in the adoption of online marketplace. In a social system, the diffusion and adoption of online marketplaces in SMEs is influenced by socio-economic characteristics, personality variables and communication behaviours that exist and are acquired by individuals. This paper describes a conceptual framework for the development of an individual-based simulation commonly referred to as an agent-based simulation to understand the adoption by SMEs and the diffusion of online marketplace in SME environments.

Many researches had shown IT contribution to business. Considering the contribution of SMEs to Indonesia economy, improving the competitiveness of SMEs is a concern in Indonesia development. Many studies had shown many IT projects failed to provide business performance. So, it is important to understand the pattern of e-business that provides business performances of a company. Using business process approach, we had studied SMEs’ e-business initiatives in the form of “which business processes that had been supported with IT” by SMEs and business performances that SMEs gained from these e-business initiatives. But, we have not studied the intensity of implemented IT for SMEs’ business processes. This paper presents a conceptual framework that relates the business performance and the intensity of e-business adoption. We also propose some antecedents that may relate to the intensity of e-business adoption.
