This article describes application area of elements of augmented reality with focus with their implementation in assembling processes. In beginning it brings the information about current state of solutions in these problems and offers closer look to the problems of position and orientation tracking as well as current solutions in area of movement of virtual objects with use of commercial devices working on marker principles. In next part it approaches innovation of such solution in the form of utilization of Open Source tools for determination of orientation and position in real working environment. Main part of the article presents the description of newly created application that uses mutual connection of real data obtained from working area with elements of virtual environments, what creates platform for further progress in area of application of elements of augmented reality. At concrete example there chronological sequence explained in individual steps for creation of new application of virtual reality for support of realization of assembling units. In the end it introduces the possibilities of further development of application possibilities of designed system.

This paper contributes in the form of a theoretical discussion and also, by the presentation of a practical example, brings information about the utilization possibilities of elements of augmented reality for the creation of programs for the control of a robotic workplace and for their simulated verification. In the beginning it provides an overview of the current state in the area of robotic systems with the use of unreal objects and describes existing and assumed attitudes. The next part describes an experimental robotic workplace. Then it clarifies the realization of a new way of verification of the program for robotic workplace control and provides information about the possibilities for further development of created functioning concepts.

This article deals with virtual tools based on principles of open source philosophy in implementation area of composite lay-up technology. It describes virtual software and hardware elements that are necessary for work in augmented reality environment. In the beginning it focuses on general problems of applications of virtual components and in composite lay-up process. It clarifies the fundamental philosophy of new created application and the process called visual scripting that was used for program development. Further it provides closer view on particular logical sections, where necessary data are harvested and compared with values from virtual arrays. Also the new device is described with adjustment of operating desk, what enables detailed control of any realized manufacturing process. This positioning table can determine and set the position of the working plane using the commands in computer interface or manual changes. Information about exact position of individual layers are obtained in real time thanks to the built-in sensors. One of them manages the data change of the desk position (X, Y, Z), other checks the rotation around main axis situated in the center of the table. New software consists of 4 main logical areas with data packets comming from internal computer components as well as from external devices. In the end the displaying section is able to realize the movement process of virtual item (composite layer) according to its trajectory. Article presents new attitude in realization of composite lay-up process. Finally it deals with possible future improvements and other application possibilities.

A flexible arm that can take ideally any shape in the three dimensions will necessarily consist of many elements that can move concerning each other. In order to control the shape of such a device (motion of the robot) each element needs an actuator and sensors. For basic modelling of this system behaviour we have to know, measure or suppose behaviour of basic parts of flexible arm. Because the pneumatic spring is a basic part (except servodrives and control) its mathematical model has been created for further using in control and regulation theory. After mathematical describing of pneumatic spring the block diagram has been created. Deduced model of pneumatic spring has been simulated by computer and confronted with physical experimental modelling in laboratory.

Amount of the energy contained in the Earths water cycle is huge, but its use is difficult. The most common method is the production of hydroelectric power stations. In todays society, small hydro power plants present the most efficient, ecological and economic way of generation of the electricity. These plants create a part of acquirement of electric current from the renewable resources. This contribution describes the function of hydro power plants and turbines, mainly Kaplan. Article introduces small hydro power plant Sulin and presents technical solutions concerning the proposal of construction of the turbine and the analysis of the inflow part of turbines body containing the proposal of new turbine blades.

Paper presents project of experimental gearbox design and production with application of Rapid Prototyping technology realized by students and workers of Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies in Presov, Slovakia. In frame of gearbox design there was model with four gears realized together with its control mechanism. Production of gearbox was connected with realization of produced parts dimensional issues and final gearbox assembly.

This contribution deals with possibilities of using the elements of augmented reality for generation of aided view to the manufacturing devices that work separately or as a part of production line. Idea of augmented reality is present in the form of special displaying unit based on utilization of half-silvered mirror which works on the principle of combination of two attributes – transparency and ability to reflect. With this mirror placed between worker and machine, different useful data and images can be added directly into real viewpoint, what can aid the diagnostic of machines and handling of their operational states and relevant issues.

This article describes possibilities of assembling process realized with using of special virtual elements of the augmented reality (AR) and production processes with integration of parametrical CA data in virtual environment by graphical script. These possibilities are implemented in the virtual assembling environment of AR, where the application core allows engineers and constructors not only to see important information about a position and orientation of the single assembly element but also view on next item from assembly list. By means of this the costumer can see the motion process of single assembly item according to its trajectory and necessary information about general characteristic of the assembling processes.

The program for machine is important for creation a new parts in industry. In this time, the NC (numerical control) is very used. NC is technology, in which the program for controlling of the machine is used; for example for drilling, lathes, milling, conventional and unconventional cutting machines (laser, water-jet, plasma). CNC programming may use the application of Group Technology theory. Group Technology (GT) is a philosophy for manufacturing and strategy, which helps a company in understanding what it manufactures and how those products are then manufactured. When some properties are once identified, it is possible to capitalize on these similarities by processing together groups of families (similar parts). Then the opportunity for unnecessary duplication of effort for creation a new program and solving of some problems are minimized.
